idk the cia did some wacky stuff - and sometimes the groups or people in charge just believe too hard in it and put too much emphasis on random pieces of "evidence"

probably to not lose funding or the people who keep these experiments running are delusional believers.

does anyone know the experiments the cia did with the israeli "psychic" uri geller? this dude has been debunked and humiliated on live tv - despite that the cia team that worked with him concluded that he actually posessed psychic capabilities. - the majority of "scientists" were convinced by his parlor tricks and the doubting voices were silenced. - this specific case i researched a while back out of curiosity sealed the deal for me and how i approach these kinds of docs.

honestly if you have unlimited budget and the might of the strongest military behind your back it's not too far fetched that EVERYTHING gets tested.

One of my favourite rabbitholes is the amount of supernatural stuff the US looked for during the cold war. I'm sure most of it is just corruption and burning cash but there's a handful of true believers who would go, 'There's no way anyone would give away the state secrets of our beautiful freedom land, so the Soviets must have telepaths and astral projection'

I mean, the Soviets were also researching this shit as much as the Americans 🤷‍♂️

It was more like the CIA finding out the Soviets were training psychics and then rushing to do their own experiments, but ending up drugging a bunch of college kids and turning them into mass shooters. “Accidentally” of course.
