Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Are they kidding? Santa would be sent to CECOT before he could say Ho! Ho! Ho!

  • No citizenship
  • No Trump gold card
  • Giving things away — clearly some sort of socialist

There is only one policy they are in agreement on: coal for assholes. And those assholes love their coal.

I have to correct you on your last point. It's only because he gives away things to poor people and not just rich people that makes him a filthy socialist.

If Santa was handing out tax breaks and children to the elite, they'd put him in the Whitehouse instead of trump.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 16 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Naw. They’d have to catch him first. He can move fast for a fat guy, can’t be trapped (we’ve all tried, haven’t we?) and his sleigh violates the known laws of physics.

[–] YerLam@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Rudolph has to lead a top team of elves to rescue Santa from a cell beneath the remains of the east wing, "It's A Very White House Christmas".

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

And now i have visions of Santa flashing his fat Greek ass off the back end with “Fuck ICE” across his corpulent cheeks

is really every digital turd dished out by trump's court newsworthy

We keep sinking lower and lower on the bar for civilized society. It was already bad in the US. It feels like a new low every day, either in competency, in malevolence, moral depravity, or all three. We’ve gone from “it’s the season of giving” to propagandizing fascist Santa, complete with passive aggressive Merry Christmas.

In the CECOT video, the president & warden are like, “Oh yeah, we fuck people up! Humans rights don’t matter here.” They are gloating to try and remove the shame of their lack of morality. Same thing is happening here. Shock & awe, flood the zone, & it never ends.

I believe it is necessary to document their love of AI propaganda, because they'll be pulling out all the stops when it comes to the 2028 elections. Don't be surprised when they "discover" a video of AOC performing in a Tijuana donkey show.

Media 101 nowadays: It's not only newsworthy but in fact every single time our lord and savior Trump and his loyal consorts vomit up the next pile of vile shit it magically redefines reality.

[–] aesthelete@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

Definitely not

Idiot conservatives never figured out the truth about Santa Clause.

He's real, of course. Very real. But in the sense that an idea is real. Like time, or money... he's something we give value to because of our collective agreement.

Santa is the lesson of gratitude. Its doing good things because it feels good to do them, and not expecting anything in return.

We are all Santa, and we all agree to use this personification to help kids grasp ncreasingly foreign concepts...altruism, benevolence, agape.

I am Santa.
Je suis Santa.
Yo soy Santa.
私はサンタです.
我是圣诞老人.
Eu sou o Papai Noel.
मैं सांता हूँ.
Ana Santa.
আমি সান্তা.
Я Санта-Клаус.

Ich bin der Weihnachtsmann, du bist die Weihnachtsfrau, ach Mann oder Frau, wir nehmen's nicht so genau.

[–] blackbearjesus27@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

These fuckers will go watch all these Christmas movies about self sacrifice for their fellow man/spreading joy and comfort and turn around to do this.

It’s not that they haven’t figured it out. It’s that they don’t think certain people are worthy of that same treatment because they were born somewhere else.

[–] JasonDJ@lemmy.zip 5 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Imagine if a pregnant teenage girl and her much older baby-daddy traveled from another country and asked these people for shelter in their barn.

I don't think it would go well. They'd probably get shot for knocking on the door, or they'd want a turn rolling in the hay with Mary.

Disgusting.

Fuck those thugs

[–] Th4tGuyII@fedia.io 16 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I can't help but feel like a real life Santa, who famously gives gifts to children of all creeds, would not side with ICE agents...

I think they'd all be on the naughty list, and he'd be pelting coal at them instead.

[–] mushroommunk@lemmy.today 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Except most of them are MAGA and want more coal. He'd need something else.

[–] vaultdweller013@sh.itjust.works 9 points 2 months ago

Pretty sure the saint of prostitutes wouldn't work with the feds.

[–] laz@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 2 months ago

Only way to afford 75+ dolls in this economy

[–] RabbitBBQ@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

Ho Ho Ho, You're going to Guantuanamo

[–] El_guapazo@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago

But St Nicholas is from turkiye? Definitely not American. Giving away free toys to children of the world- that's socialism!

[–] joyjoy@lemmy.zip 5 points 2 months ago

Do we round up and deport Santa's Elves? They're stealing hard working Americans' jobs by working for candy.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

I don't think that's who the patron saint is prostitutes would be rounding up for Krasnov
