The idea certainly intrigues me.

[–] ZoopZeZoop@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago

Used to love them as a kid. Eventually decided I didn't like them enough to justify the sticky fingers.

[–] PunnyName@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

I've tried that. Enjoy having your mouth glued shut.

[–] favoredponcho@lemmy.zip 10 points 2 days ago (3 children)

What even is marshmallow. Seems unnatural.

[–] Ephera@lemmy.ml 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Originally, they were made from the marshmallow plant, by the way: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marshmallow#History

But yeah, the modern-day formula is quite different and rather highly processed...

Marshmallow is basically cooked and whipped sugar.

Mallowed marsh dude. Basic science

[–] anomnom@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Sugar and gelatin, which is made from Pig bones and hooves mostly.

So depends on your definition of natural.

So we’re looking at a ham sandwich

[–] fartographer@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Thank you for inviting me into your home, it seemed lovely. I gotta go home now and see if I can beat a thought from my own brain.

Are you friends with an asshole beer can who takes you on interstellar adventures?

[–] robocall@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I've never tried this. Is it sweet?

[–] n0respect@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

It's basically whipped corn syrup, so yes. It has the texture of a mousse, and a little bit oozy.

More of an A&W person myself

[–] PunnyName@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Bundaberg makes a solid one, too.

yup. I drink root beer three times a year maybe, and it's IBC because it's consistent and crisp not cloying.

[–] n0respect@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

pshaw, if we're talking bottles then it's Henry's or Virgil's.

[–] iamericandre@lemmy.world 10 points 3 days ago

Barqs has that bite

[–] MrQuallzin@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

A&W for root beer floats, Mug preferably over Barqs, but almost no fast food place around here have Mug. Barqs does have caffeine as well which is a nice pick-me-up

[–] anomnom@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 days ago

I’d rather have Dr. Pepper or cherry cola for the caffeine.

[–] Siethron@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I don't know if they've gone national but I'm a Fit'z guy myself.

[–] nymnympseudonym@piefed.social 5 points 2 days ago

Intrigued. Looks like high quality RB

[–] PrimeErective@startrek.website 7 points 2 days ago (2 children)

[–] comador@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago
