Microsoft is trying a new way to stop users from downloading Google Chrome. If you open the Chrome download page in Microsoft Edge, you may see a new banner at the top. This version looks different from the usual prompts that ask users to stay with Edge.

Microsoft has had to resort to tricking people and coercion to use their software from the very, very beginning. I don't think they have ever produced a software application that people actually enjoy using.

I'm moving out from all Microsoft services. Just have outlook mail left since it's 10+ years old and all. Guess I'll finally pay for Proton.

confirmed. opened up edge on my work system, visited chrome download site and got the dialogue pop up.
