It’s amazing how the usual sentiment to solve all the world’s problems is “more of the same, but even harder!” and questioning this logic is sacrilegious.

“Alternative” for Germany my fat neckbeard ass. “Reform” UK my fat neckbeard ass.

I've found that it helps to understand this psychology by imagining that I'm living in the Warhammer 40k Imperium.

"Things are absolutely horrible, but I'm not some kind of heretic. It's probably the xenos' fault that I work 18 hours a day and live in a broom closet. Glory to the Emperor!"

We were kinda on that trajectory anyway EU or no EU because we centralised our entire economy inside one ring road and if you remove London from the equation we’re basically destitute. Literally just a collection of investment banks, consultants and raytheon with some pharma sprinkled on top oh and we did export lots of gambling but regulations come in recently put a stop to that lawl.

Our main actual real material thing we make and export is cars but not sure how long that will last. Especially considering car sales are plummeting and brexit made it a lot more costly to export them. Main reason they were made here is cos our wages were so dogshit it was cheaper than anywhere else in Europe lel.

The reality is the economy was always shit for anyone not working in London and most brits have always been pretty reactionary. Reforms success largely comes from the failure of the tories otherwise this would still be a strong tory country basically forever

I genuinely believe being isolated from the EU's currency debt tornado is going to benefit UK eventually but it's such a slow burn until that point.

[–] Collatz_problem@hexbear.net 29 points 3 weeks ago

It will benefit UK only if Britain doesn't do its own debt tornado.

After UKIP and The Brexit Party, he finally wised up and realized he can't name his party based on a short term goal that can be achieved in a single election cycle. When Luxemberg wrote Reform or Revolution, she was probably warning us about this twat.

Also the DPRK, I remember him scolding tourists who go there after a Korean missile flew over where he lived and set off air alarms. His video on that went viral.

I mean the potholes etc were already there well before Brexit. Tbh a big part of what makes Farage's narrative appealing to a lot of people is that the British economy did turn to shit when they lost the empire — because it had always been utterly dependent on exploiting the colonies — and subsequent attempts to adapt to a post-imperial context, including membership of the EU, were all huge failures for everyone from the middle class down
