There’s nothing inherently problematic about saying “new type of lady.” Her heart was in the right place and that’s all that matters.
I think we need to focus less on specific words and more on intention. I’ll take an ally-granny who uses all the “wrong” words over a bigot who condescendingly insult me while still technically using the “right” terminology.
Guh shameful flashbacks to early transition and being super intolerant of well meaning but poorly articulated support.
