I made papadam today with lentils as an experiment to see how it works and now that I understand the process and technique it's like wow the variations are limitless, let me make some rice/red bean flour crackers with creole seasoning, yeah that's right RED BEAN AND RICE CHIPS MOTHERFUCKER. i could make a black eyed pea coconut curry into a chip if I wanted to. god knows what else

It is not an accident that the widest range of technology that an ordinary person has easy access to is in the domain of the kitchen.

The kitchen is where you have a uniform heat source (the essential tech for chemistry), a place to cool things down, a water source, power outlets, a workbench, and knives. It is the closest you get to a laboratory.

That's how I feel when I'm at work, not tired, and have the free time and lack of oversight to fuck around. It's harder at home because I have to clean my own dishes

Quite cool.

Did you make the pappadom? Or buy a packet of pappadoms and fry/cook them?

I made them, I just ground dry lentils into a powder, added some salt, cumin, garlic and onion powder, then added enough water to work it into a dough, plus some rice flour to stop it sticking as I pressed them flat
