Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

B-but, but... The Burn Bags??? The grand jury in Florida??? The conspiracy against rights???

Kash gotta stick around to cover for that stuff, right?

(If you don't know what I'm talking about, keep it that way. This is like the dumbest bullshit I've ever heard, and I've heard a lotta bullshit. )

He's going to look so shocked if he gets fired. I guarantee it.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 59 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

I bet he'd look just as surprised if he doesn't.

[–] Wytch@lemmy.zip 23 points 10 hours ago

Yeah I don't know how we could tell

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 13 points 10 hours ago (2 children)

Honestly?

I think it'll be the opposite, an immediate look of relief. He might even look normal.

It won't be unique to Kash, aside from Stephen Miller I don't think any of them are actually enjoying this.

Yeah, I think a lot of them didn't expect these jobs to require actual work. They probably realized they had it better when they were just spewing shit on their podcasts. Now the press is on their asses, reporting any corrupt and weird shit they do.

He seems to be enjoying the free private vacation flights.

“Mr. Patel, I think you’re not going to be around long. I think this might be your last full oversight hearing,” Booker said. “Because as much as you supplicate yourself to the will of Donald Trump and not the constitution of the United States of America, Donald Trump has shown us in his first term, and in this term, he is not loyal to people like you. He will cut you loose.”

Fash Patel headed for the trash, then?

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 0 points 4 hours ago

Ultimately, of course. The question is when. Nattering nabobs want us to think soon.

Which is a lovely thought until we see what other horrifyingly unqualified fascist he scrapes up to take his place.

"Oh thank fucking lord Jesus Christ"

  • Patel, probably
[–] IphtashuFitz@lemmy.world 23 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Patel wants to keep using FBI coffers for perks though. He’s reportedly flying all over the place on FBI jets, made an FBI SWAT team act as a security detail for his girlfriend, etc.

[–] Linktank@lemmy.today 6 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Sounds like he's going to prison.

[–] HumanOnEarth@lemmy.ca 0 points 8 hours ago

He'll be making that face a lot more then

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 7 points 8 hours ago

The grift and corruption might have come to attention with Kash Patel, but instead of throwing one out, they should put the whole Trump mafia behind bars where they belong.

[–] xenomor@lemmy.world 16 points 10 hours ago

So, is his slobbering obedience not outweighing his rank incompetence anymore?

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 14 points 10 hours ago

The first cabinet secretary to be fired is the brown guy? Noooooooooo! Aw man i did not see that coming.

[–] ThePantser@sh.itjust.works 5 points 10 hours ago

Needs a new case against an FBI director because the last one fell through?

[–] MisterNeon@lemmy.world 2 points 9 hours ago

I remember hearing that Trump is trying to keep people around for one year to see how they do. I wouldn't be surprised if Hegseth isn't going to be around much longer in his current position.
