Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Imagine - unprecedented corruption in the DOJ of the most corrupt administration in US history.

Yes - Americans should be enraged - but they should be enraged every minute of every day, as they look upon a grotesquely corrupt administration in which a vindictive narcissist, compulsive liar, fragile egomaniac and raging sociopath who's marching the entire country toward self-destruction to satisfy his wildly misdirected and literally insane need for privilege and acclaim has assembled an unprecedented array of entirely corrupt, amoral, unprincipled, self-deluding shitweasels who can and will carry out his every whim, no matter how much harm it does to how many.

The real tragedy of the US isn't that Trump and his scumbag supporters are actively destroying the country and everything it ever claimed to stand for, but that so many Americans are standing idly by, or even cheering them on, as they do it.

Apathy is one thing, but there's realistically very little any one person can do that doesn't rely on violence. Most people are struggling to get by,but they haven't been pushed over the edge. There's hope that sanity will return and we just have to wait. But that sanity will just be more of the same and continue to drag us towards oblivion

The list of shit I'm enraged about is absolutely spectacular. This just adds to it.

[–] LemmyFeed@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 4 months ago

I'm so tired of being enraged.

[–] Triumph@fedia.io 22 points 4 months ago (2 children)

Rage without an outlet only hurts you, and the reason you're enraged is because "this isn't how it's supposed to be". It's not, you're right, but it's how it is. Being enraged does not change that.

It's time to stop being enraged. It's time to start being prepared, observant, and resolute.

Get mad. Organize with your local community.

[–] Triumph@fedia.io 8 points 4 months ago

Get mad, stay mad. Get loud, stay loud. Unless you need to be very, very quiet.

It's time to start being prepared, observant, and resolute.

To be fair, you can use the energy of your rage and pour it into becoming prepared, observant, and resolute. It doesn't have to be an either or.

[–] Triumph@fedia.io 5 points 4 months ago

That's kind of what I meant. The alternatives are the outlet. But it's also important to try to channel it such that you are calm and focused. Seething rage will have you making mistakes.

[–] gedaliyah@lemmy.world 15 points 4 months ago

Enraged? Yes. Surprised though?

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 13 points 4 months ago

Surely the corruption isn't unprecedented. It's the Trump administration, so the corruption is entirely precedented. If they were competent, that would be unprecedented.

Americans are used to it. This is peanuts compared to the trillions the rich just robbed them of in the last budget.

Rage means nothing when we don't act

[–] MyOpinion@lemmy.today 6 points 4 months ago

We can only be Enraged every day. You just can expect any more from use. The rage tank is running on empty.

[–] RagingRobot@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago

Oh look me in the eye and swear you didn't do it.

I said look in my eyes!!!
