Anyone else remember, 17 years ago, when IGN April Fooled a Legend of Zelda live action movie trailer and everyone really, really wanted it to be real?

Hmm I don’t mind Link’s look, actually I kind of like it. I would’ve liked Zelda to look more elf-ish or fairylike.
Also shouldn’t her hair be more blonde?? Like can’t she wear a wig or dye her hair a few shades lighter lol

Reddish brown in the OG, blonde in art but brown in game in LttP, brown in TP.
I'm surprised Nintendo let this happen. Animated is one thing, but live action? Well, nothin to do but wait and see.
"The Lord of the Rings" is a multimedia fantasy virus isn't it. Just gets into everything.
Check out the Shannara live action series, the stills kind of reminds me of that (even though I only watched 1 episode)
I see it, maybe a little more post-industrial. But if you'd told me these were stills from Rings of Power (especially the last one) I would have accepted it without question.
Also, how have I missed out on Shannara? It looks amazing, glad you mentioned it ❤️
The books are really good (to a point), the show was not bad and starting to get good when it ended.
I remember reading the books, but I felt way to far away from the target audience for the live action so just gave it one episode. I hope Im not giving you disappointment ;)
Not at all falling in love with a classic series of fantasy novels and then feeling alienated by a modern cinematic adaptation written for a younger audience and a different time that I nevertheless feel should exactly reproduce my experience of the original and therefore am invariably disappointed is one of my favorite things, I do it all the time. Already got the first audiobook downloaded, looking forward to it.
I kind of love the walking mess of Walker Boh, but that character is a bit further in the series (if I remember correctly). If you remember let me know what you thought when you feel youve made up your mind about the books
I wont judge a whole movie just from three still images. I'll reserve my true judgement for later. But I will say that the costume design looks suitable. And the actors, physically, arent far off from what I would expect for their characters, so I'm at least pleased with that. The tone invoked by the imagery feels a bit off, but, again, without context, that's basically no information at all.
Partner and I will probably go see it.
Game: imaginative gorgeous landscape
Movie: generic scenery from someone’s backyard
