Elon Musk: “I only date models”

[–] BreadOven@lemmy.world 2 points 16 minutes ago

Oh, I thought it was referring to like an OF model in 2026, and was confused. AI makes more sense.

Why in the everloving fuck is there a fucked up facebook for company's trademark on this meme?

"Like the meme? Hire me on indeed."

my girlfriend is a (fashion) model: 😀
my girlfriend is a (fashion) model: ☹️ (on top of being constantly stressed out about her livelihood being tied to her physical appearance, now AI image gen threatens her entire industry)

[disclaimer i do not actually have a gf. i'm a mentally ill lemmy nerd fuckin pray for me bros]

Look man if I can get a girl to ask me out by being a complete wackadoodle (then break up with me before Valentine’s Day, but that’s beside the point) YOU CAN DO IT TOO, I BELIVE IT YOU JUST GO FOR IT

(Damn I should really take my own advice)

i live in the only city in my county with three lesbian bars i have negative excuses lol

well aside from being really broke i guess

I'm not mentally ill so I can't send prayers. I'll send thoughts instead, mainly happy thoughts about me not being mentally ill.

[Disclaimer: Not only am I mentally ill and not a dog, but I'm a chronic liar as well.]

Wait. You're saying you might not be a doctor? I might have to rethink the advice you've provided me.

there is going to be a lot of ghosting during the ai crash

[–] NotSteve_@piefed.ca 39 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

It already sort of happened with GPT5, people were contemplating suicide over the AI becoming less personable

[–] LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 6 hours ago* (last edited 6 hours ago) (3 children)

I don't want to give grok/such the traffic but is it much less personable? Like did some of these people become friends with an AI, then get forced to move to an AI that treats them worse?

I've never tried to have a conversation with one like that. I did try to ask one to help me figure out what was wrong with a docker container I was trying to set up. Think I ended up just tossing it and starting from scratch after I had clearly set something up wrong initially, then got the AI just went in loops trying to get me to try the same things over and over. Haven't tried them recently

Basically yes, it's the normie version of testing out different models and finding one they like.

And "friends"? That's a bit oversimplification, but when I tested out models on my personal AI rig I could use all sorts of models and write my own system prompts. Using a default character sheet as the benchmark, various models gave off vastly different "personalities" in their answer.

Some of them I liked so much I went back to the "nice" models after testing various others, not too concerned with quantization accuracy or parameter size. But I tested for personality, creativity, empathic mimicry and so on - Not for factual answers. Not even the giant, up-to-date models are usable for facts.

Marvin the Paranoid Android powered by an uncencored sci-fi horror LLM is delightful fun, finally someone on my level of positive outlook on things!

[–] ButteryMonkey@piefed.social 13 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

I read an article about that and apparently the change to the model made the ai stop responding to affectionate solicitations with the same sort of affectionate tone in reply. It got more businesslike, and less intimate.

[–] BeigeAgenda@lemmy.ca 7 points 5 hours ago

I definitely got weirded out asking a GPT3 model about something and it got clingy.

Now I see it more like a search engine, skim the wall of text to find the useful information. Today I gave it a lot of context and explained what I had done and the error I got and it more or less told me you did everything correctly, and suggested stuff I already tried. It's way of saying "I don't know".

[–] Greddan@feddit.org 5 points 4 hours ago

I've had an acquaintance express actual anger at me for questioning the output of Grok. Granted, the man is one of the dumbest people I know, but I'm still concerned. No one's immune to being psychologically manipulated, even if you're aware of it happening. People who think they're friends with bikini-streamers even less so.

Was trying to explain to them that large language model progress will start to slow down because probabilistic networks aren't good with anything that needs reproducible results, The data requirements are starting to balloon and restricting them reduces their creativity.

They brought up things like folding at home and other neural network models. So I explained to them that was a Markov state model not a generative AI.

Then they brought up Nvidia DLSS. And I do explain that that was also a CNN and Transformer model, not a generative one.

So I guess this is a long way of me saying that I don't know if a lot of people understand the distinction between generative AI and a neural network with the many flavors that comes in and I think that conflation leads to a lot of the artificial hype AI gets.

[–] DrDystopia@lemy.lol 5 points 4 hours ago

Most people don't know the diference and the AI hype is that prediction engines/Simulated AI equates neural networks.

But if you look at LLM's from a business and political point of view you might see, like me, that the point of "AI" haven't been to create artificial intelligence but rather to replace low tier workers and influence impressionable people.

That's what AI told me so it's the objective truth.
