I was listening to Yanis Varoufakis talk about how the new data/cloud capital untethered from the physical “means of production” in our modern era. The maddening thing with AI is there is no good outcome. Either it works and a shitload of currently employed people lose their jobs, or it's a dud and the market collapses. There's no winning for the worker.
Ultimately no winning for the state, either. Unless they're willing to murder 100s of millions. And well, they probably are.
They'll just put everyone on the dole. But it will be the meagerest most miserable existence possible.

Every interview I've seen of him is him looking extremely nervous and timid, hoping the interviewee bought whatever he said. Back in my day you had to have some charisma and composure to be a successful conman.
