badposting is a comm where you post badly

This is not a !the_dunk_tank@hexbear.net alternative. This is not a !memes@hexbear.net alternative. This is a place for you to post your bad posts.

Ever had a really shitty bit idea? Joke you want to take way past the point of where it was funny? Want to feel like a stand-up comedy guy who's been bombing a set for the past 30 minutes straight and at this point is just saying shit to see if people react to it? Really bad pun? A homemade cringe concoction? A cognitohazard that you have birthed into this world and have an urge to spread like chain mail?

Rules:

  1. Do not post good posts.
    • Unauthorized goodposting is to be punished in the manner of commenting the phrase "GOOD post" followed by an emoji that has not yet been used in the thread
    • Use an emoticon/kaomoji/rule-three-abiding ASCII art if the rations run out
  2. This is not a comm where you direct people to other people's bad posts. This is a comm where you post badly.
  3. This rule intentionally left blank.
  4. If you're struck for rule 3, skill issue, not allowed to complain about it.

Code of Conduct applies just as much here as it does everywhere else. Technically, CoC violations are bad posts. On the other hand: L + ratio + get ~~better~~ worse material bozo

Fuck empty attention. You're getting a real life talk. Go on, tell me your hopes and dreams. What the fuck are you doing with your life? You asked for this!

Communism winning. Healing the world of the protestant work ethic. These two are my ideal cases. Basically I want to automate and open source everything that corporations get paid a lot of money for.

For example I have this idea for an auto-manager that you could ping requesting a day off or a shift change and get a reply instantly regardless of time. That way a middle manager is akin to a "humans technician" just dealing with edge cases and getting much less prestige.

I also have one that's like runelite smart glasses. Where you can highlight everything that an employee needs to do in order in bright cyan ala quest helper for the open source Old School RuneScape launcher so you can essentially skip the part where you have to think and solve puzzles during your job.

And I hope that encourages more people to open source, automate, and make redundant the shittiest parts of business perchance put legacy institutional business models in peril.

Ok actually that's awesome. I really think we have the technology by now to automate 90% of the shit humans do that is necessary to keep society running, and we'll need people with your mindset throughout and after the revolution to make sure that actually gets done. We could be living in a utopia by now where most people barely work, and I think that proving that will be one of our biggest propaganda assets as capitalists continue to squeeze workers ever harder.

Hey there! Attention timeeeee!! You get all the attention! Welcome to your ted talk, whats your presentation on?

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu should be compared to drawing more often. I think the time scale to competency and level of complexity is similar. White belts are essentially doodling faces and stick figures and getting frustrated that their proportions are off and they're not getting clean line work. Of course you're not. You don't know anything about the medium, this is your first time learning about form, light, and anatomy. I could use a crayon and make something more aesthetically pleasing than you because I know, generally, how to draw a proportionate looking face.

Don't ever get discouraged by your abilities below brown belt and instead maximize learning. When you know how to draw you'll make a lot less silly mistakes.

meow-hug

Thank you, comrade. I'm getting over it at my own pace. I've heard this advice that's like "you should consider making a family" and it's like "oh yeah, I'll just shower, dress up, and take the metro to the partner factory and pick up one of their new models". I even got a match with a person who had all their ducks in a row and froze like "I can't fucking do this". It's straight up a no go for me right now. I don't have the bandwidth to have someone close and intimate with me, to come home and need to listen and be there for them. To learn about them and hope they like me. Not to mention the craterous impacts that my exes left on my mental model for what a relationship looks like - "are you just saying that because it's convenient for you?" type shit.

ugh, i feel you. after every intense-but-short-lived relationship i have, when i think about the whole process starting back up i have this aversion. like "eh, do i really want to go through this whole emotional meat grinder again?" visible-disgust so its easier to just stay in bed and watch movies and focus on my community work and hobbies. but then the yearning creeps back in, so it's like there isn't a good option.
