Why does the promotional art look like it's been smeared with Vaseline

[–] fanbois@hexbear.net 43 points 1 month ago (4 children)

Conspiracy theory: It's a ploy to make the Ai image piss filter seem more normal and validate it as an aesthetic choice instead of being the signifier for the lowest of low, the ultimate slop garbage devoid of any humanity or anything interesting.

[–] Azarova@hexbear.net 23 points 1 month ago

im 100% convinced this is why youtube is doing this shit to shorts without consent of the creators or any way to opt out. they know ai slop is unpopular but they're trying to normalize it

It looks too perfect. Even as an aesthetic choice it's meh.

Too clean, too plastic.

God damn, we need another counter culture that embraces crust and imperfection. I'm so sick of how fake and pretty and marketable everything is.

Kintsugi is the new punk rock

[–] ElChapoDeChapo@hexbear.net 21 points 1 month ago

I now fully believe this and have already incorporated it into my worldview

same with automatic AI upscaling on your phone's camera. you zoom in trying to see if it's real and there's that classic AI distortion no matter what

If it seems your phone can take a half decent photo of the moon, it can't and it's lying to you.

[–] KuroXppi@hexbear.net 3 points 1 month ago

Oh cool, my photos of the moon look like arse

[–] deforestgump@hexbear.net 30 points 1 month ago

It’s one of those pictures, where when you zoom in, it’s made up of thousands of images of sex-trafficking victims.

This fall, Generic White Woman stars in LAW GAL: NO COUNTRY FOR CRIMINALS

[–] VILenin@hexbear.net 16 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Can't wait for the episode where she epically owns the stupid defense attorney and their "rights" bullshit by torturing a confession out of the defendant, epic girlboss doing what has to be done, le epic adults in the room making the tough decisions

Accountability and red tape are the main antagonist of the show. The cops hunch is all knowing and almost without fault

[–] SkingradGuard@hexbear.net 15 points 1 month ago

They gave it the ai slop filter

[–] PKMKII@hexbear.net 36 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (2 children)

If this was a biblically accurate version of a small town sheriff, every episode would be about responding to complaints about a couple drunk and arguing on their front lawn and/or local teens stealing road signs.

[–] VILenin@hexbear.net 25 points 1 month ago (1 children)

10 hour episode that consists of being illegally parked on the sidewalk eating burritos and scrolling TikTok and throwing a hissy fit every time she actually has to actually do anything, driving recklessly to respond to the scene of a door-ding incident in a McDonald's parking lot to tell the driver she can't do anything, and ending with shooting a black kid for driving with a busted tail-light and getting a 6 month paid vacation

[–] came_apart_at_Kmart@hexbear.net 8 points 1 month ago

it would be like The Pit where each 1 hour episode is 1 hour of a 12 hour shift, and like 4 of them are a like quiet arthouse flick where you watch somebody take a nap in their car, single shot.

So, Reno 911!?

Inara, when we said "fuck the police," this is not what we meant :browncoat-despair:

Why does the cast of Firefly keep ending up in copaganda?

[–] Keld@hexbear.net 23 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

Why does the cast from the show about how the confederacy was cool keep ending up in cop media? I don't know. Seriously though. Adam Baldwin is a fascist (coiner of the term "gamergate" iirc), Nathan Fillion is at least fash curious, and the rest are working actors and like 70% of us produced TV shows are cop shows or medical dramas.

[–] BodyBySisyphus@hexbear.net 19 points 1 month ago

Aw c'mon, they were just some good ol' boys with countryish accents and an 1880's aesthetic recovering from a lost cause against a larger, more industrialized power and - okay c'mon, there was that scene with the dinosaurs! kitty-birthday-sad

Chuck, Castle, The Rookie, Homeland, this slop, I feel like I'm still missing some

Edit: Zootopia

Tucker and Dale Versus Evil. ACAB includes people who try to stop horror movie teen tropes from playing out.

Damn, bummer to see Morena Baccarin in this

[–] john_brown@hexbear.net 23 points 1 month ago (2 children)

looking forward to its sister program, Sheriff Urban

[–] Krem@hexbear.net 14 points 1 month ago

Crossover episode:

"Sheriff Country, there's been a murder at the exact border between Oklahoma County and New York City. You're gonna have to work with Police Detective City on this case."

"Detective City? Isn't she a..."

"Yes, but don't use that word. Those woke city cops don't like it"

[–] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 7 points 1 month ago

There's a Keith Urban joke in here somewhere but I can't find it.

[–] keepcarrot@hexbear.net 13 points 1 month ago

If we posted every time there was new cop slop, we'd be drowning in these posts :( There is so much

[–] Mindfury@hexbear.net 6 points 1 month ago

this is just a sanitised version of the Jon Hamm season of Fargo
