Being 10 when 9/11 happened, I feel that line and series so fucking hard. I didn't have close to the same experience but seeing the first footage of Iraq being bombed at my grandparent's place after spending the drive up.ssking my parents a lot of questions. Main one being if daddam does have weapons of mass destruction wouldn't attacking him make him use them? They said he didnt have them. Then I saw the bombs and thought of the children my age who just had just what I had feared could happen to me happen live in CNN. I was 11 years old and ive despises america and my own country for falling in lockstep ever sense. I get so annoyed with how much anime has permeated our culture because I could never stand anime and there’s jokes and references constantly shoved in my face and it irritates the shit out of me.

He's from a 1989 anime. Gundam War in the Pocket. I dont like anime that much either tbh, I just got into Gundam 2 years ago and im in my mid 30s. Turns out it's really really fucking good. I wasnt trying to make a post that everyone would necessarily get either but those who do will really get it.
Don't watch war in the pocket first tho, it tskes place during the original 1979 series, which is great. Im more of a sci fi guy than anything and Gundam is absolutely top tier Sci fi.
I think you are also being a bit grumpy even though I have felt the same when seeing snime references but I just keep it to myself cause as stated above, I am in my mid 30s and am not really an anime fan but dont mind letting people have their anime. Its ususally not my thing and i kinds dont respect it eorher but its entertainment tate at thebend ofnthe day. I do like some anime but its rare when i do. I like Gundam, Nichijou (amazing absurdity sketch comedy, I do have anime fan friends and they do recommend good shit when they know ill like it, not liking this show means you dont have a soul, it's Monty python style ish and also heartwarming. It is a big snuggly blanket of a show), Kino's Journey (gender ambiguous protagonist and their talking motorcycle are on a journey for non-specific reasons and stay in s toen for 3 days eac episode or so sometimes there sre road episodes and those towns hage twilight zone stuff going on), metabots cause I saw it as a kid and it stands as kind of a satire of Pokémon style shows now. I like stuff that is good and dont really care where its made or style if it fits. But as an anime casual, but Sci fi mega dork, Gundam, at least the universal century stuff is fa tactic Sci fi

Oh im upset. You could have just not said anything but decided the best use of the firsr comment in the thread i made was to make it about yourself. I understand your point of view and share it pretty often and thars why I decided to give a longer response expressing that. I figured why not recommend some stuff I enjoy as a non anime fan instead of just calling you a prick. Turns out I should have just called you a prick.

I'd go as neutral as possible i the future. But also if youre on a message board you clearly aren't familiar with and someone posts something you arent familiar with, its not necessarily the best time to tell.thr world your general.rsmt against the post.
