As someone whose neighboring local gov’t just concluded a back room deal with Google to give them unfettered access to our drinking water for cooling at a new data center for ai slop generation, this blows.
What happened to Microsoft's idea of having data centres on platforms out in the ocean and just using sea water?
i imagine they're significantly more expensive than staying on land and abusing existing water sources that offer pre-processed water
