Tom Homan, who was later named President Trump’s border czar, was recorded in September 2024 accepting a bag with $50,000 in cash in an undercover F.B.I. investigation, according to people familiar with the case, which was later shut down by Trump administration officials.

...

Mr. Homan’s encounter with the undercover agents, recorded on audiotape, led him to be investigated for potential bribery and other crimes, after he apparently took the money and agreed to help the agents — who were posing as businessmen — secure future government contracts related to border security, the people said.

Imagine what this does for morale at the FBI. Not only is your director a putz, perhaps the worst director in history, but your work no longer matters. FBI agents aren't your corrupt local cops. They take (took) pride in being apolitical, professional investigators of the highest caliber.

Ever had your boss throw your hard work in the trash? This is that x10. Add to that the fear of professional or even legal consequences for investing the wrong person.

There are thousands of ways to carry out legal corruption in this country, and this idiot gets caught doing the ONE that's explicitly banned. Then they just sweep it under the rug.

Jesus....fucking.....christ

I hope that House Democrats are going to subpoena that tape. It sure would be a shame if it leaked to the press though.

They can't issue subpoenas while in the minority

Trying to think that through. Can't a committee issue a subpoena with out a full vote?

Genocidal and some how dumber porky pig is also corrupt? When bad guys in movies behave like this, it's deemed unrealistic because of cartoonish evil...

Yeah but I mean who hasn’t accepted a $50,000 bag of cash to subvert legal process required one’s position now and then?

I mean those coke and hookers are just gonna go to some Saudi prince or something if you don’t. And nobody wants that.
