Many moons ago I watched a documentary(?) that more-or-less followed Matt and Trey for the entire creation process of an episode, from writer's room to air. If I remember right, they were still changing things right before they sent it off to the network just before the deadline. Sounds like they haven't changed things much, hah.

Actually, they doubled the time between episodes to 13 days, so I'm being they had to delay so they could remove something about Charlie Kirk or something Kirk adjacent.
Maybe it was so they could add something about Charlie Kirk? 🤞🤞
They couldn't decide how to handle to chuckirk euthanization without getting disappeared.
I wonder how many times this has happened before.
I think a few times over the 10-20th seasons. I remember it not being a big deal because they had released a film around then showing how they literally make it up to the very last minute of airing so a lot of longtime fans just shrug off a delay and expect even more recent events to be in the final show.
Actually, I think this is only the 2nd time (not accounting for this new season where almost every episode was "delayed" before they just accepted a 2 week schedule).
First time it happened was on Goth Kids 3 because of a power outage.
