I fully believe that the pushing of India into the arms of Russia/China by the US will go down as the single largest strategic blunder of the early 21st century. India was literally the only chance the US had to have any significant presence on the Asian continent going forward.

I think pushing Russia and China together was an equal blunder because Russia ensures China cannot be blockaded for resources and provides a shield in the west.
Russia is a bit different I think because India is actually like on the rise. They'll likely be the next upcoming major world power in 20 years or so. I was always worried about them and thinking like India might be the deciding factor in a WW3 scenario.
India does have a lot of potential being a huge country. On the other hand, Russia is far more advanced technologically, especially in terms of military and space tech as a legacy of USSR, and it's a major global commodity exporter. So both are going to be major players going forward.
India being close to Russia isn't particularly unusual owning to the third Indo-Pakistani war. The Soviet Union supported India, who supported Bangladesh against Pakistan. Since then, the Soviet Union and the Russian Federation as the successor state of the Soviet Union has maintained a warm relationship with India.
Having said that, I'm always of the opinion that India looks after India. I never liked the idea that India is somehow a US puppet. Those Sikh separatists that Modi send goons to assassinate would beg to differ. India will never be more than a fairweather friend regardless of whether it's on Team US or Team China.
Interesting, but it's only 65 people. A symbolic amount as a gesture, not a real action of participation in any level. You could easily send twice that amount and still have them standing on the sides out of the way watching things.
Also curious how that site fails to maintain all caps for NATO. It's an acronym like the UN so should always be capitalized so we always remember to read it as Nazi Arming Terrorist Organization.
Even if symbolic, it's still a clear message to the west.
