In an interview with NBC News, Trump talked about the Charlie Kirk assassination, criticized "a radical left group of lunatics" and called for Democratic donor George Soros to be jailed.

Donald Trump said he hopes the nation will heal following the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, though he suggested in an exclusive interview Saturday with NBC News that a “radical left” contingent in the country stands as a barrier to reconciliation.

“I’d like to see it [the nation] heal,” the president said in a brief telephone interview. “But we’re dealing with a radical left group of lunatics, and they don’t play fair and they never did.”

The suspect arrested in Kirk’s murder is 22-year-old Tyler Robinson of Utah. He is alleged to have shot the conservative activist during a speaking event Wednesday at Utah Valley University. Public records show that Robinson’s last voter registration date was July 13, 2021, with no political party declared.

National healing will happen when the last MAGAt is driven from office and banned from ever holding any office, corporate or public, for life, Trump's and his billionaire supporters' assets expropriated, and Trump and his gang of criminals incarcerated.

This is quite mild compared to my initial position on this subject.

Maybe declaring war on cities in blue states might not be the best way to help things heal.

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 16 points 3 days ago

No, it absolutely is! Because all the problems in the country are due to the uppity "urban" people in cities....

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

(Ammo)sexual healing.

[–] henfredemars@infosec.pub 60 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Didn’t he just get through saying that he doesn’t give a rats ass?

[–] Red0ctober@lemmy.world 24 points 3 days ago

Yes, yes he did

[–] Stupidmanager@lemmy.world 12 points 3 days ago (1 children)

You’ve clearly haven’t dealt with someone with dementia. That old man up there likely can’t remember what he had for breakfast, let alone the fact he had just spewed hate and violence in an effort to keep us distracted from asking for the Epstein files.

Trump has always been a raging hypocrite, though

[–] TheLowestStone@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago

Yes, but now he is a raging hypocrite who can't even remember his most recent hypocrisy.

A right wing nutjob, killed by the follower of a right wing nutjob, who thinks that the first right wing nutjob was not right wing enough and that he deserved to die because of it. That damned radical left!

[–] Tyrq@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 2 days ago

He died doing what he loved, being proven that he was a leftie after all. God speed you fabulous blue boy, the goalposts will never be the same again.

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 6 points 2 days ago

If Trump wants the nation to heal, he should stop continuously inflicting injuries on it.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 27 points 3 days ago

Hey one of your fanbois shot another one of your fanbois.

Sounds like entirely a YOU problem.

[–] devolution@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Talking out of your ass and your mouth. The conservative way.

[–] sad_detective_man@sopuli.xyz 24 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Wow guy who's been starting witch hunts for a decade wants a truce. I for one, believe his lying ass

[–] kibiz0r@midwest.social 17 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Not a truce. An unconditional surrender.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago

What did the architect of Project 2025 - which, according to Taco, Elevated Centrists, the Confederates, etc....all told us didn't exist, and if it did exist, don't get so emotional about it, guy - say?

Oh yeah:

We are in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless ― if the left allows it to be.

[–] Red0ctober@lemmy.world 10 points 3 days ago

Maybe he's finally learned all those lessons Susan Collins keeps talking about to justify her shitty votes 🤣

[–] WanderWisley@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

Whatever it takes to distract from the Epstein files king.

[–] ChimpChamp22@reddthat.com 12 points 3 days ago

The nation can't heal when the far-right is attacking anyone further than far-right for not being far-right.

[–] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 9 points 2 days ago

Well I think his resignation and suicide would be a good way to start.

[–] xenomor@lemmy.world 9 points 3 days ago

I, for one, have no interest whatsoever with ‘healing’, or finding common cause, or compromise with fucking fascists. There is no wiggle room on genocide, or half-way on racism. Both the charlatan christian republicans nazis, and the feckless cowardly corporate democrats can shove all their fake and predatory appeals to conciliation and “normalcy” up their corrupt asses.

Nazi filth.

This is all so far beyond politics. It's as if America as a whole is severely mentally ill. But artificially mentally ill... as if there's a psychological war happening.

...and people think they can "fight back" with outdated ideologies, that are already psychologically owned and controlled by the powerful entities that guide the path of the mass society.

Like... This isn't going to change via political discourse or even violence... Society is already owned and controlled, the emotional reactions of both the left and right of Kirks death, not to mention other marketed pop drama used to guide society is proof. all this drama is exactly what they want.

[–] ordnance_qf_17_pounder@reddthat.com 7 points 3 days ago (2 children)

There can't be any healing until this piece of shit is out of the political picture for good, and his whole ideology and style of divisive politics are confined to the scrapheap of history. Worst thing to happen to the USA for a long, long time.

[–] ChimpChamp22@reddthat.com 9 points 3 days ago (1 children)

The problems run much deeper than Trump. Hes a symptom, not the disease. Many more dominoes need to fall.

[–] WhatAmLemmy@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

Yeah. People focus on Trump when the entire party are just as bad, and both parties still support genocide, so the mental illness is societal-wide.

There's several hundred to several thousand key figures, financiers, propagandists, stochastic terrorists, etc that bare most of the blame for right wing extremism (Putin, Musk, Thiel, heritage foundation leaders, etc); if all of them stopped existing tomorrow there's a good chance the extremism would subside, and perhaps reverse course.

My hope is for more MAGA on MAGA violence; they take their trash out themselves.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

So, basically all of conservatism. Taco has his brand on the place, but they've been this awful for a long, long time. They just had a "respectable" mask that they kept on.

I don't see them going back to that. They will have to be kept out of office for years if we are to get back to normalcy.

[–] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago

Fuck you, Cheeto chimp!

Release the Trump/Epstein files

[–] AlexLost@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

Can't you all just shut up and do exactly as I say. Geez, you are making this so difficult!

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Resistance is violence. We desire peace which will be achieved whenever you lie down and take it

[–] BlameTheAntifa@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Healing would require extinguishing every source of rightist propaganda and resetting the wealth of every billionaire. They don’t want healing, they want war and this is more of the same theater they use to escalate violence. “We need peace” they cry as they torture and murder our most vulnerable. After November 5, violence became inevitable. Fascism has achieved the terminal momentum it needs to enter the final stage. Either escape or prepare. You don’t have long.

The guy who put PeeWee Mengele in charge of the nation's health thinks he knows how to heal the country.
