General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

Not surprising at all sadly

Could it be the fascism he's supporting against "Palestinian Action"?

He clearly states he doesn't describe himself as a Zionist but supports Zionism and a two state solution.

I guess the trouble with the Zionism label is it means different things to different people. Is it just the belief of the right of a self deterministic Jewish state or does it encompass the wider ethno-nationalistic goals of the more uncompromising members of the current Israeli government.

It is the classic double speak which makes absolutely no sense. Always replace the word Zionist with Nazi to find out how ridiculous it sounds "I am not a Nazi but I support Nazism". That is what we call a Nazi.

Is it just the belief of the right of a self deterministic Jewish state

This is not what Israel or Zionism is. There is a crucial word missing: exclusive.

"The realization of the right to national self-determination in the State of Israel is exclusive to the Jewish People."

Yeah. Unfortunately the human desire to simplify terminology. Often leads to prejudices seeming in.

It is important to be clear. The things we (I'm making assumptions about yourself and any readers). We object to and are protesting are Genocide and Apartheid. Also war crimes in general.

No matter how evil the leaders of Israel are ATM. We have to remember. This debate will encourage Anti Jewish Racists to jump on the band wagon.

The existence of these arseholes in no way provides protection for war crimes. But neither dose the existence of the Arseholes in Israel provide protection for the racism.

Fuck you. Israel was always a terrorist state that oppressed palestinians for 77 years and xionism was always a supermasist ideology according to herzl writting itself. That nazi like ideology is the reason why genocide is going on

It means jewish supermasism based on herzl writting. He doesn't support a two state solution either

Ask him to define “Zionism”

That probably explains why he seems to need reminding that it is now September.
