Incoming trump pardon...

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 2 points 17 hours ago

Looks like Maga has found its successor once trumps arteries finally fill fully up, any time now.

[–] sploosh@lemmy.world 17 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Read the article please! He was trying to make Dairy Queen employees look like they were poisoning kids, not trying to molest the girls. He put pills in their milkshakes and then showed a cop the milkshakes, claiming they came that way. Cops found video of him putting the pills in.

He's still a bad man who put his grandkids in harm's way, or at best used them in commission of a crime.

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 4 points 21 hours ago

I believe in his capacity to do both

[–] quick_snail@feddit.nl 9 points 1 day ago

Yokeley has since been booked on multiple felony counts, including contaminating food or drink with a controlled substance, possession of Schedule I narcotics, and child abuse.

He posted a $100,000 secured bond after his arrest and transport to the New Hanover County Detention Center, per the report.

Jesus, dude's not even locked up right now

[–] quick_snail@feddit.nl 8 points 1 day ago

MDMA

Sounds like a good time

cocaine

Ugh, no thanks

granddaughter

Jesus fuck dude

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago

Don't worry, he just wanted to rape her. He is a Republican, after all.

[–] StowawayFog@piefed.social 43 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Why are these people so fucking weird

[–] UnculturedSwine@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 17 hours ago

Narcissism is a hell of a drug

[–] xyzzy@lemmy.today 5 points 1 day ago

It's just the dregs of society

[–] thallamabond@lemmy.world 70 points 2 days ago (2 children)

This is a wild story, dude flag down an officer at the gas station, told him he thought somebody drugged his grandkids ice cream. Didn't realize there was surveillance.

[–] Eldritch@piefed.world 54 points 2 days ago (1 children)

100% he was gonna claim it was a (((Democrat))) or a (((liberal))). Those that know know.

[–] theunknownmuncher@lemmy.world 21 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Best not to use white supremacy symbols and signals though

[–] Eldritch@piefed.world 47 points 2 days ago (18 children)

The whole point is that it's likely about white supremacy. And that people should be aware of it and it's language. For those that don't know.

[–] dethedrus@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 18 hours ago

I'm far too terminally online but also an old. So thanks for letting us know!

[–] Naz@sh.itjust.works 2 points 17 hours ago

Same, today I learned.

I'm glad that I don't need to do mental gymnastics to not hate a certain group of people.

Wish I could transfer that state of universal acceptance to others, where you just let people exist in peace

Like just walk up to some bigot or transphobe, touch their shoulders and be like: "You see that person?" And they go: "What of it?"

"Here's your post history on Bluesky" (sudden realization)

[–] convectionfusion@lemmy.world 2 points 19 hours ago

The whole point is that it’s likely about white supremacy

the drugs in the ice cream are about white supremecy?

I missed something somewhere - can you elaborate on this? they're all fucking nutso but I'm trying to parse what flavor of nutso this is

[–] FrowingFostek@lemmy.world 22 points 2 days ago

Today I learned

[–] theunknownmuncher@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

I definitely agree that educating people about these symbols is important and positive, but just... using them... is not a good method?

"Those that know know" ??? directly contradicts your stated intention

[–] Eldritch@piefed.world 15 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The intention was to instigate discussion. Which it did. Otherwise it would have been just another link that someone might have skimmed over.

Using it would have been treating it as a secret code that it is and not highlighting it. By highlighting it Etc the only way it was being used was as an example for people to inform themselves and learn from. Used to see that sort of bullshit all the time over on Reddit. Thankfully Lemmy is a better space.

[–] SupraMario@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

Had no clue about them, so TIL because of your post.

I just have to wonder "why"? What's the end goal. Risk your grandchild's safety to sue a Dairy Queen? It doesn't make sense.

[–] thallamabond@lemmy.world 19 points 2 days ago (4 children)

There's no telling what his intentions were here.

It could have been politically motivated.

He could have dementia.

Maybe he was high on cocaine and ecstasy, and wanted to share.

Not enough details are available right now.

[–] N0t_5ure@lemmy.world 29 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The fact that he flagged down a cop to tell them about it makes it pretty clear that he wasn't really looking to drug them per se, but rather to cause a legal incident. It may be that he wanted to sue Dairy Queen for profit, or perhaps get someone at the DQ store in trouble, or to blame it on a political group he deems undesirable (immigrant workers, trans people, liberals, etc.). In any event, it's psychopathic.

[–] mateofeo85@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago

One theory is the girls found the pill inside and he tried to cover it up.

[–] KneeTitts@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago

There’s no telling what his intentions were here.

Heres an idea, he was gonna drug them for some trump style picture taking but the kids found the drugs, then he was trapped and had to report it (trying to blame it on someone else) and didnt realize he was caught on surveillance putting the drugs there himself.

[–] Bonesince1997@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

Yes, I am your bearded granddaughter, and I'll take a vanilla and medicine flavored ice cream, please.

An excerpt from his resignation letter:

...I remain prayerfully confident that I will be exonerated of all accusations leveled against me.

"Prayerfully confident"? Really?

https://wcti12.com/news/local/surry-county-elections-chair-resigns-after-criminal-charges-involving-granddaughters

[–] UnculturedSwine@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 17 hours ago

So confident, he is resigning.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)
[–] altphoto@lemmy.today 4 points 1 day ago

Family strokes.

[–] InvalidName2@lemmy.zip 13 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Oh, nice! They found a new contender for the least corrupt and criminal Republican in government in the USA.

[–] Goldmage263@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 day ago

Yeah, crazy he was able to get access to cocaine and mdma though. How could a Election Official with close ties to a political party ever access something so illicit? "They"™️ must have used Jewish brainwashing lasers to make him do it.

[–] Mateogrande@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Everyone in the comments seems confused today. The guy was going to rape his granddaughters. He hadn’t planned on them discovering the drugs while they ate the ice cream. Had to play concerned grandparent at that point.

[–] Imacat@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Sounds like he just put whole pills into the ice cream. Can’t imagine thinking someone would eat a pill like that without noticing. Then again, dude is clearly out of his mind so idk.

[–] quick_snail@feddit.nl 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I sneak whole pills into peanut butter for my dog

Not mdma, I'd hope.

[–] Zombiepirate@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Doesn't seem that way to me.

Why would he really go to the cops instead of lying and saying he did if he wanted to drug them?

Sounds like he had some beef with the DQ and wanted to make trouble for them.

[–] KneeTitts@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

The guy was going to rape his granddaughters

My guess is he needed new photographic material to give to his dear pedo leader
