@absGeekNZ , can't really say. I'm about to buy my next tub, so I'll see.

I heap scorn upon your Marmite troubles!
Bah!
The great Vegemite civilization welcomes refugees from the barbarian lands.
Steady on mate. I live the UK and because UK Marmite is All Wrong, I've been forced to fall back on Strayan Vegemite. Lately though that lifeline seems to be fraying - in my current jar the texture is a little sloppy, the flavour not quite up there.
So, what's going on in "the great Vegemite civilization"? Was this just a rogue jar? Or is this the start of enshitification?
Pro'lly just all y'all heat waves melting it.
Your puritanical religion will not sway those who are dedicated to the glory and true path of Marmite.
Be gone opportunistic usurper.
Our household tends to worship a veritable pantheon.
UK Marmite, NZ Marmite, Vegemite, Promite & Bovril. All always in stock.
Just on All. Never seen marmite. Canadian.
Apparently it is quite the acquired taste; but here it is part of childhood so we acquire it early.
I didn't like feta cheese at first.
Couldn't get a big jar today, they didn't have any at the supermarket I went to. But couldn't speak to the others.
My pantry is always stocked with Marmite. I just checked and I've got a good 75% left.
75% of one jar? Seems awfully low.
I am only 1 man and I've been trying to stop getting bread. I mostly use it to bake marmite scrolls
Marmite and cheese scrolls are where it is at.
That's a good use for it!
With three kids now at school, we are going through about 6 loaves of bread a week. Lots of marmite too, though more Nutella (and that one kid that likes Nutella and Marmite on the same sandwich).
I don't know how my parents kept up with me when I was an early teenager in a growing spurt. It wasn't uncommon for me to eat 4 pieces of toast at breakfast, alongside 6-12 weetbix, go to school, eat whatever I had for lunch there, come home, eat another 4-8 pieces of toast, or 4 toast, 1 instant noodles as an afternoon snack, and then eat dinner as well. I think i was basically eating 2-3 loaves of bread a week by myself.
Oh yeah I don't think I was quite as hungry as you, but if I ate as much food now as I did then I'd be wider than I am tall.
I wasnt allowed Nutella as a kid. My mum had a fucking vendetta against it for some reason. I'd have to go to friends houses to have it. Nutella is pretty dam good but combining it with Marmite should be illegal.
Nutella was a luxury when I was a kid (to be fair, my kids mostly get off-brand so real nutella is still a luxury). I never liked it though. I still don't like it, but I can understand that a marmite/nutella savory/sweet combo could work.
When I was a kid I used to put marmite and golden syrup on the same sandwich for a similar combo.
my wife only bought a small jar this week, must be a cost of living thing
Not sure if it's just a US problem, but I checked my local grocery store and walmart websites. Neither carries it in store, but Walmart has it available for shipping to my state with 2 day shipping for around $10 USD.
Interesting.
But is it NZ Marmite or the UK stuff???? They have quite distinct flavors.
BTW I'm in NZ, this is a NZ instance and Taupō is a NZ town.
Our house is a little light because I try not to buy long life things when they aren't on special, and it hasn't been on special for a while.
When I [generic term for internet search?], I find this post on the orange site from a month ago, with someone saying they got a memo 11 June 2025:
Sanitarium wanted to inform you of a temporary supply constraint affecting one of our Marmite products. Due to a shortfall in key raw materials, they are currently unable to manufacture Marmite at full capacity. As a result, production is being focused solely on the 250g Marmite jar, and the 500g SKU will be unavailable for a short period.
Wikipedia says it's made from by-products of beer brewing, so maybe buying more beer will help the shortage?
We go through a lot of Marmite... This is not great
