If stability means the pillars of our society are held up by pedophiles bring on the fuckin instability.

[–] jonne@infosec.pub 119 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Yeah, it's always funny when conservatives are like 'careful what you wish for, Clinton was friends with Epstein too!'. Like we give a fuck, lock him up!

[–] Pofski@lemmy.world 58 points 1 week ago (1 children)

This is the difference between "I want my team to win" or "I want the good guys to win".

[–] Peppycito@sh.itjust.works 14 points 1 week ago

It should be a Venn diagram with "I want the bad guys to be punished." Or a political compass with "I want to get away with raping women."

[–] Mirshe@lemmy.world 34 points 1 week ago

Yeah, my dad was going on about "why do all the Democrats want the Epstein files released, weren't the Clintons in there" and I'm like yeah, I want them to be investigated as well if needed. They can't imagine people would want the guys on their side investigated because after Nixon, they truly think any investigation of a political figure is for political gain.

[–] ameancow@lemmy.world 20 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Yah this argument makes no sense even if I imagine being a corn-fed chud in the hills, isn't this exactly the same "Bring down authority" narrative they've been preparing for years? Isn't this LITERALLY Q-anon's entire theater play but happening in real time?

Wow what warriors for saving children, look at 'em go! Look at them storm the capitol to bring down this evil cabal who are now actually admitting their existence in public, no code words, no secret basements! Wait, they stormed the capitol already? And it was because of no reason at all?

Well I'm sure they have something big planned to finally put an end to this deep-state scourge to life, liberty and children that they've been railing against for decades.

[–] WhatAmLemmy@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I say let's pull the copper from the walls and demolish this pedo clown world.

Innocent?

If they are innocent, how would releasing the document destroy them?

[–] OhStopYellingAtMe@lemmy.world 51 points 1 week ago (1 children)

In trump’s mind, there’s nothing more “innocent” that forcing two underage girls to dress up as maids, force them to perform sexual acts on each other and him, sexually assault them, and then tell them they “performed adequately “ before leaving them

Fucking hell I'm in shock. I just can't believe this at all. There's no way this happened. The Daily Heil did some serious journalism. The Trump stuff sounds about right though.

Specific yes, but not oddly: this is paraphrasing from an actual testimony of victims.

[–] ameancow@lemmy.world 21 points 1 week ago

"It's good innocent fun that boys do, we have to stop persecuting these men for just doing what all men want!"

This is going to be the pro-pedo narrative that the entire right does their abrupt 180 with.

Conservatives about Pizzagate, a made-up fantasy conspiracy theory on a pedophile ring of powerful people: put them all in jail!

Conservatives about the Epstein files, a real-life conspiracy on a pedophile ring of powerful people: well surely we can't put all these people in jail, think about the consequences!

[–] SaharaMaleikuhm@feddit.org 27 points 1 week ago

The difference is now their guy is affected, while with pizzagate it was only the others.

[–] LoreleiSankTheShip@lemmy.ml 11 points 1 week ago

You don't get it! Pizzagate wasn't about our side like the Epstein files are!! /s

[–] Tempus_Fugit@midwest.social 77 points 1 week ago (4 children)

Why would anything collapse? What a dumb thing to say. These people already don't do anything but leech off the system. We'd have a more effective government and we'd kick the real welfare queens out.

[–] Nalivai@discuss.tchncs.de 27 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Atlas shat himself or something, I don't read rich people porn

By society they mean the veneer on brutal capitalism that allows them to do whatever the fuck they want while we get hosed

Trump says it can destroy innocent people? Why would innocent people be against publishing a list of pedophiles?

[–] zildjiandrummer1@lemmy.world 40 points 1 week ago

Here's Katie Johnson's testimony on how Trump and Epstein brutally raped her and other 13 year old girls: "Katie Johnson's full testimony of 2/11/16", https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnib-OORRRo

I'm amazed it hasn't spread any more yet.

[–] zbyte64@awful.systems 25 points 1 week ago (2 children)

He's hijacking the point that victims need to have their identities protected. But instead of victims he means the perpetrators.

I call bullshit on 2/3 of Congress. I believe they’re not nearly as wealthy or powerful as the people being protected.

[–] TranscendentalEmpire@lemmy.today 21 points 1 week ago (2 children)

call bullshit on 2/3 of Congress.

Yeah..... It really doesn't have to be that dramatic. The GOP would be more than willing to bury any kind of evidence if it only endangered a couple of their mega donors.

I mean I'm guessing that the people wealthy enough to partake in pedo island probably aren't a fan of paying taxes.

Good?

Shit ain't exactly stable for 99.9% of us.

If arresting pedos also substantially changes the way our society works, that's a win-win

[–] WhatAmLemmy@lemmy.world 13 points 1 week ago

You're misunderstanding me bro.... See, we can't overthrow the criminally corrupt and pedophilic oligarchy, nor have legitimate democracy, because that would destabilize society... and as we all know, society is more stable when we protect criminals and pedophiles.

😳

[–] Milk_Sheikh@lemmy.dbzer0.com 40 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I’ve heard this “if we expose them whatta-buh-bout collapse?” a few times now. And if you’re trying to tell me that the global system is predicated upon the ultra rich and powerful being able to traffick and serially abuse children and get away with it, that’s not a system worth saving.

Burn it down, to the water line, and start anew. Release the whole thing, not a redacted or doctored list to quell the MAGA revolt. Everyone who was ever on that island - from the wait staff to Bill Gates - needs to be investigated properly, cleared as appropriate, and punished as deserved.

[–] D_C@sh.itjust.works 10 points 1 week ago

Completely agree, and the stonkingly overinflated ego on them to even contemplate an inking of the idea that society would collapse just because some scummy paedo cunts get some well deserved comeuppance is astonishing.

Christ, fucking baboons do a better job keeping their societies running more smoothly then these kiddie fiddling chucklefucks.
Plus there would be many more people chomping at the bit to do their 'jobs', but do it better.

Send the nonces to prison, fuck sake.

[–] Feathercrown@lemmy.world 39 points 1 week ago (2 children)

They're by definition NOT INNOCENT. Whatever happened to "drain the swamp"?

Lol yeah we couldn't possibly elect new reps. Gotta love conservatives and their static view of the world.

*This is Atlas Shrugged from what I understand (haven't read it). It's a handful of businessmen that grace the world, and without them the world can't function.

[–] Daft_ish@lemmy.dbzer0.com 36 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Is a government full of pedophiles worth saving?

No. The answer is no.

wait wait wait lmao hold on, are you saying the political elite are too big to fail? we can’t allow pedophile rapists to be punished because they weaseled their way to the top? i’m not fucking following the logic of their anger.

[–] Gorilladrums@lemmy.world 31 points 1 week ago (1 children)

That's not collapse, that's just justice. That's people being held accountable for their crimes. Society is still going to function fine without them, their roles, if they even have any, will just be taken over by the next person in the command structure.

It would in no way impede the stability of society, quite the opposite. Those are the very same people who are responsible for much of the instability. If the US were to start prioritising the public good over the profits of the oligarchy, 99.99% of society would benefit.

[–] Decq@lemmy.world 28 points 1 week ago (5 children)

Wasn't Trump all about draining the swamp? And now that there is a swamp to drain he pussy's out? I guess TACO really was accurate.

The world’s most powerful people going to prison would not cause the collapse of society. That is just not what society is. Even setting aside all hate for the 0.1% and judgments about whether they deserve prison, it’s just ridiculous to say that society depends on them. Who even wrote that line? Ayn Rand’s grandson?

[–] Lexam@lemmy.world 24 points 1 week ago (1 children)

They think they hold up society.

[–] tigeruppercut@lemmy.zip 13 points 1 week ago

Yeah, if 2/3 of congress (and let's be honest, most pedos are GOP) and a bunch of CEOs disappeared for awhile literally nothing would be worse.

[–] rumba@lemmy.zip 18 points 1 week ago

Imprisioned? Hardly. Not with their kind of money and influence. Some would go down. We already know lots of names on the list which aren't getting any serious time out of this.

[–] School_Lunch@lemmy.world 17 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Theses people think way too highly of themselves. All of them are easily replaceable.

[–] Blackmist@feddit.uk 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

If all of them went into their respective places of work tomorrow, locked themselves in and then all died of a gas leak, I wonder how long it would be before anyone would actually notice.

Much of the workings of a country are run by civil servants, etc who would still be there. They'd just get no new orders. People would still get paid. Shit would still get done.

It could be years before we find them.

I severely doubt society would collapse. I'm even willing to bet that it would begin to flourish. If people with power and control are willing to do these things to kids, imagine what they do to you even now with their executive powers.

I'm seriously wondering that if these people refuse to release the information, it's time to vote for these representatives with lead next. This cannot be tolerated and we need to ensure people are afraid to commit such atrocious crimes on our young.

Like the Panama papers?

[–] finitebanjo@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago (7 children)

2/3rds of Congress? Is that why the vote to release the files was along party lines, with 211 Republicans voting to stop the release of the files? I think it's more like a simple majority of congress, lol.

It is not the elites of society who keep the role turning, it's the workers.

Also The Conservative Alternative:

[–] FreeBeard@slrpnk.net 12 points 1 week ago

Ah yes, the world will collapse because of a problem that is almost exclusively in the USA.

On an unrelated note, have you ever heard of Americentrism?

[–] ilinamorato@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago

If they can be destroyed by the truth, they absolutely must be destroyed by the truth.

From this point on, reporters should work off of the baseline assumption that everyone who voted not to release the documents are mentioned in the documents. Until proven otherwise.
