Every time I read about this flood, the numbers get worse. Over 100 now confirmed dead and 170 still missing. That's a lot of people to just get swept away overnight. Like the article said, the flood doesn't stop to ask about your political views. It's taking everyone.
Climate - truthful information about climate, related activism and politics.
Discussion of climate, how it is changing, activism around that, the politics, and the energy systems change we need in order to stabilize things.
As a starting point, the burning of fossil fuels, and to a lesser extent deforestation and release of methane are responsible for the warming in recent decades:

Recommended actions to cut greenhouse gas emissions in the near future:
Anti-science, inactivism, and unsupported conspiracy theories are not ok here.
Is that an ironic flag, or what?
It is a signpost where America is in history. Here the timetable:
July 1969: Under President Nixon, the first humans, coming from the US, step on the moon's surface and plant an American flag before being brought back safely.
July 2025: Under President Trump, forces plant a flag in a river abruptly flooded due to climate change, after over 120 people have died and over 160 are still missing and most probably dead.
Wish it was the Texas flag
I wonder if this opens up opportunities for engineers to design for climate change.... Different way of living. Like t-shirts with built-in cooling and UV reflective systems. Pants with water cooling. Shoes that also work as water pumps. Maybe beds come with flotation devices and LED flashing lights and maybe a pedal powered prop. Roof tops that auto disintegrate when ripped off and include parachutes. Fireproof floatable basements with 50ft of air intake piping if water were to go that high. Maybe retrofit streets with pumps yo get all the water pumped away to California?
There are ice vests for workers already. Not fun to have to use .
Those girls at Christian camp should have prayed harder.
Should have gotten the 50 gallon hats. Yee Haw!
