The Texas Tornados are/were a Tex-Mex supergroup from Texas. The band consisted of Augie Meyers, Freddie Fender, Doug Sahm and Flaco Jimenez. Fender was famous for his cover of "Wasted Days and Wasted Nights", and a song from the mid 70s called "Before The Next Teardrop Falls". Doug Sahm was a songwriter and multi instrumental musician. Flaco Jimenez is a world class squeeze box player, and has played with Dwight Yoakum, Linda Rondstadt, and tons of other Tejano groups. He's the third in a family line of conjunto players. His father and grandfather are legends as well. Augie Meyers was a founding member of The Sir Douglas Quintet w Doug Sahm, and The Texas Tornados. He has played with Tom Waits, Tom Jones, Bob Dylan, and others. I think he wrote most of the songs but I can't be certain.
