They keep not actually saying what they want though, other than "we can't make everyone happy." So they plan to abandon LGBTQ but trans especially.
The right can organize because a) they fundamentally only believe in empowering the existing hierarchy and b) Trump's victory realigned the party so everyone who didn't get along left.
The Dems are an unorganized mish mash of corporate hawks, laborish organizers, social justice activists, and interest groups. They have no central ideology which is why there's always difficulty uniting the corporate owned leadership and the kinda working class base.

I assume the plan is to lie cheat and steal however they have to in order to scrabble their way back into power, only to do more Nothing if that's achieved. The real question is only how to sell all this Nothing to the american public without anyone questioning why they don't use the broad, sweeping powers exercised by Trump to do Literally Anything Good.

"We must protect and rebuild the institutions and we cannot do that by breaking more rules like our adversaries" is what they'll say once they get into power. Before they get into power all kinds of vague promises of justice and doing this and that. But darn it the Parliamentarian will rule against them and they refuse to be just like the enemy they fight in effectively getting things done. They're going to set an example of their ideals!

The goal of the Democratic party isn't to win, it's to coax out money from donors. They don't care if they get into office or not. Actually they probably prefer when Republicans win because they get more money out of it.
The dems do more than that. They play an important role in normalizing and solidifying the policies put in place by republicans 
Its likely gonna clamp down on mamdani or other socdem types because they sure as shit aren't doing much against the democracy ending repubs.
