I resent that these two terms are used interchangeably throughout the whole article. WT actual F.

I mean, a lot of key software are FOSS. A world without linux, curl or ffmpeg would be extremely different.

Unfortunately that is not the point this article is making. At all.

That number combined an estimate of time saved by not having to develop software covered by open source and the profits reaped by companies using open source in production

People will be mad at this, but they can and should just use a different license if they are unhappy with leeching.

Trickle down economics at work. We all know most open source devs are super rich and receive a lot of that money. That's the only reason they can work so much on open source 😌
