This is exactly how we make the year of linux happen. For an alternative OS to enter mainstream it needs to be at the level os windows, so should have lots of malware around.

Nobody sane should be installing js code in their systems. Nor having node or even npm installed.

One time a friend was talking and evaluating the concept of being happy and if he was or not at this point in time.

He said that because X, and Y and Z he could look and say that "yes he was happy".

That was many years ago. I'm still tormented about that conversation and that concept of being happy. It all seemed absolutely alien and I had no idea what he was talking about. I don't think I have ever felt that concept.

At this point it's almost 2 decades of English uis only everywhere I can. Phone, computers, tv, etc.

Just makes life easier.

Sometimes I see or interact with someone else phone or computer and my brain just freezes in panic because I have no idea about the words and concepts that people see in my native language.

It's on tv all the time.

The fact that there are still people who venerate him as some kind of god leaves me depressed. Applies specially to the space nerds that follow every fart he makes.

There's no other life other than work, sleep and stress.

Similar to how I know in portugal. But maybe I'm the weird one. Everything else going on on this thread feels super alien.

Because it's hard to deal with people that are too in love with it and it's easier to just stay quiet and let them be when you don't have the proper capacity to articulate with people irl. Just like it's near impossible to talk against someone being racist as if it's the most normal thing in the world.

capitalism and tech oligarchs happened.

I can confidently say that there is nothing in her discography where she is driving. There are some where she is the passenger though.

Scala and Haskell mentioned a few times.

Will be more similar to Haskell than Scala apparently for the resolution.

We've recently open sourced some of our internal Scala libraries at Magine Pro.

  • aws-regions: micro library for working with AWS regions. Also for Scala.js and Scala Native.
  • http4s-aws: request authentication and credentials management for AWS, without a dependency on the AWS Java SDK. Scala.js and Scala Native support in the works.
  • http4s-karapace: client for the Karapace schema registry. Also for Scala.js and Scala Native.
  • spies: client for Memcached built on top of cats-effect and the Amazon Memcached client.

There is also the new ciris-http4s-aws module which makes use of http4s-aws.

It's very nice to see some new libraries being open sourced from production usage.

«I'm happy to announce the release of Cats Effect 3.6.0! https://github.com/typelevel/cats-effect/releases/tag/v3.6.0

This was a gargantuan effort, and as I've previously mentioned (and discuss in the notes), it sets the stage for the future of CE's runtime with a series of almost entirely behind the scenes changes to the way that we handle asynchronous I/O and interacting with the kernel in the happy path. This not only opens the door to true multithreaded Scala Native support, but also a much higher performance ceiling on the JVM» quoted from @djspiewak mastodon post.

Video by Li Haoyi (author of Mill build tool) showcasing some advantages of mill vs maven and gradle on the jvm ecosystem.
