For those who don't know, basic premise is robocop type from 2077 gets sent back in time with a bunch of prisoners during a failed execution (a lot more revealed about that as time goes on) and is stuck in 2012 trying to catch them and get back, the plot changes/evolves a lot as the show goes on. Another main point is a young tech genius who later becomes overlord bezos is helping her. (minor spoiler) I feel like I could write paragraphs about the plot with fullon spoilers that would only really spoil 1% of what goes on in this show.

I always liked time travel concepts and watched every show/movie and read a lot of books/manga/comics related to it, but somehow never heard of continuum. This show was solid, nothing too crazy, but it was consistent with the twists and the plot stayed fresh keeping the show entertaining, I was able to binge it pretty fast without the usual headache that comes from a long show where it just starts to blend together.

They do thematic changes a lot that definitely helps. Season 1 was like buddy cop, man in the chair, almost superhero like. The later seasons switch more to being about branching realities, different timelines, how small changes effect people, and I like how they approach time travel in multiple forms. I wish it kept the cheesiness tho, felt like it got way more serious in tone by the end.

The show also kinda hits extra right now since the politics and the world people are trying to change are basically the direction we are going rnow with corporations, corrupt government, etc.

I started it, and enjoyed (but didn't love) the first two seasons. But then we hit season 3... And I am trying to force myself to continue watching, but I'm not sure I can...

I love time travel stories too, but I absolutely can't stand time travel stories that create infinite worlds, or branching timelines etc, because all they do is reduce the actions and events of the story to irrelevancy. So, for the first two season, I really enjoyed how the show was a time travel story, but it never really let you know what was happening as a result of the actions in the show. Was the future changed? Or was everything we were seeing how it had always played out?

And then we get to season 3... And suddenly, we have a split timeline the old world is destroyed, and literally everyone those characters knew and cared about is gone, and the future she had been fighting to return to is erased. And none of them really care about that. The sheer trauma of losing an entire universe is brushed over like its nothing. And I just know that now they've done one timeline divergence, there are more of them waiting either in this season or the next...

I was so close to giving up on it, until I read some spoilers in the comments that mentions she joins liber8, and I think that will keep me going, because after all of this, it will be good to see here finally click...

You should watch Travelers on Netflix, it's everything that Continuum should've been

I mean she definitely csres about it, (she hates that version of alex for it, literally locks him up in a cell for months, breaks down again) also illogical to think the world is gone, what I like is how they actually delve into the concepts like if you can tome travel and split realities and branch off why couldnt you go back to the original one, changing the future created a new reality, going back already did the original still exists it wasnt erased because she still exists, im two episodes away from the end so no spoilers but I bet theyll find a common signature for her dimension that the liber8 ppl share and use it to send her back to her own.

I just started a rewatch of this. I remember liking it back in the day but don't remember finishing it for some reason.

Genuinely feels made to be binged, I can't imagine having to wait for episodes, id get annoyed. The final season was rushed (still entertaining but the pacing feels like crank lol), has less episodes, they were cancelled and given a few episodes to wrap up

Fr took her too long to start working with liber8 was hard to be on cameron's side at first but eventsully I statted caring more about the characters motivations than the politics especially when the alrernate reality didnt work out anyways lol
