She certainly rocks leather better than Elon ever did.

He's just mad because his daughter has a working willie, and he don't.

I don't want to be a gate keeper, but can women do drag shows?

Before it was coopted by the right to mean "child predator" or "deadly threat to everything holy" it was just a style of burlesque show, a whole niche cultural thing that never bothered anyone, open to anyone who wanted to take part.

They had problems with the fact that most performers are males or assigned male at birth, and the whole thing is basically parody of gender norms and style, but embraced rather than hated, and it was just a generally fun time. (Never mind that it's kinda what stage performance has been like across the globe for hundreds or even thousands of years when it comes to gender-bending performances.)

Speaking as a CIS straight male, I have been to a couple shows and don't really get it, it's not my thing, but everyone is having fun and they're being welcoming and happy and sharing a thing together, and it's far more harmless than a million other silly things people do for fun as social groups.

Drag is mostly describing a sort of American burlesque inspired thing usually with the connotation of some amount of gender fuckery.

There are drag kings, drag queens and drag everything in betweens.

[–] JustAnotherKay@lemmy.world 10 points 6 days ago

Drag is performance art via exaggeration of feminine aspects of humanity. Doesn't seem exclusive to women to me

[–] JRush@lemmy.ca 2 points 6 days ago

People focus on drag queens, but there's also drag KINGS

[–] Gladaed@feddit.org 1 points 5 days ago

Yes, but in the screenshot she does not look like a cliche drag performer. But the headline states she danced there, it does not necessitate he being a drag performer.

Bit of a breeder

He has a lot, I think he had some weird thing for getting people to have children with him

[–] Nangijala@feddit.dk 8 points 6 days ago

The weirdest part is that they are all concieved through IVF and all of them are biologically male, so it isn't even a sex thing for him.

Dude is so fucking weird. Like alien levels of weird. The more you look into his past the weirder it gets.

I was referring to the urge to do so, not the means. But you're not wrong.

Thought as much but couldn't resist.

On an unrelated note, why is your account marked as a bot?

Did that to myself. In the settings there is a option that says something like "display as bot" which I read as "display bots" so I checked it.

He brought the little one nicknamed “X” into the Oval Office a few times. That’s the little bugger who he claimed gave him the black eye. As if we believe that

Maybe little syntax error wants a proper name and is acting out.

That's assuming they get their day in court...

[–] Nalivai@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 6 days ago

Immigration attorney's work happens regardless. A lot of the time the difference between immediate deportation and an approval is just a diligent work of an attorney, no court needed.

Kinda sad that she is often mentioned in relation to that one guy. I don't know lots about her but she seems rather cool from the one interview I watched.

I guess the connection (or lack thereof) is unfortunately needed to get anyone to care, as otherwise it'd be just some random person (and there are plenty of those around).

On the other hand, she do just be someone, like many other someones. She just happens to be linkeable to that one guy, which brings her some more visibility than someone else who might be similar though unique in their own way but with no such connection that'd attract attention

[–] ShaggySnacks@lemmy.myserv.one 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Yeah, the whole reference to another person is quite terrible. However in this case, it's warranted. Ol' Musky Boy hates the fact that he has a trans daughter. It's like sticking a knfe in Ol' Musky Boy and twisting it.

[–] lemmyknow@lemmy.today 3 points 6 days ago

Eh, idk if some guy hating their trans daughter makes it worth basing most mentions of her around said guy. I mean, obviously how she feels should be taken into account. I am not one to speak for her. But I wouldn't do evil onto someone to do evil onto someone else. Not sure I vibe with "it's quite terrible, but justified cuz it hurts someone else" (even if said someone is bad). Especially when it involves doing evil to someone distancing themselves from the other person in some way. Maybe it'd be different if they were complicit
