It's a good watch, with the understanding that it's still very western. They completely erase the bourgeois counter-revolution and make it seem like the west is just sitting on their hands waiting for him to fail. Overall worth the watch, but pay attention to the presentation.

I don't know if this was the doc I watched, but I remember having a lot of the brain worms you get from just existing in the west's sphere of influence about west Africa and "African dictators" being dismantled by watching a documentary on Sankara, and subsequently how he was betrayed by one of his closest allies. Teenage me was inspired by the humanity and kindness he showed the people of Burkina Faso.
