What phone does he have that has such a bizarre aspect ratio? I see something resembling hinges on the side, which implies it's a foldable that opens like a Nintendo DS.

Yes but can it Linux and GNU? HarmonyOS doesn't seem to be published anywhere. The specs are absolutely wild though as most Chinese OEMs are.

OpenEuler based on OpenHarmony tries to match RHEL like Rocky, been out a while and useable. With EulerOS available commercially with support.

HarmonyOS has what’s described as a hybrid kernel, the Harmony kernel is proprietary at least as used, think there’s an open version in OpenHarmony.

HarmonyOS started on mobile devices with the hybrid kernel that runs it’s own software as well as android. Like android vs AOSP there’s HarmonyOS with proprietary blobs and also OpenHarmony.

HarmonyOS supports linux drivers and API to run software, though it mainly uses differently compiled soft for Harmony kernel.

These devices also run a new chipset with Loongson architecture as opposed to ARM/x86_64. Many linux distros already support Loongson processors in addition to all the others.

I think it's their custom hardware and software. The core of HarmonyOS can be found here though https://www.openharmony.cn/
