Amongst his peers in the 'outlaw country' genre, Donald Lytle was an actual outlaw IMO.

Back when he was touring dive bars and still making his way, he'd get into bar fights before his gigs started. Once, he stole Patsy Cline's car. Another time he got on his CB radio in his tour bus and started soliciting truckers within earshot for drugs. He showed up for court in Canadia once, shirtless and shooting the bird during the Canadian anthem. His funeral was attended by Hells Angels members, along with celebs like George Jones, Jimmy Dickens and others.
