Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. 4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

The human race isn't in danger of dying out because of low birth rate. If humanity 10,000 years ago was reduced to a handful of individuals and survived. 8 billion humans and their descendants aren't going anywhere anytime soon. This is wealthy individuals afraid there won't be people around to do labor for cheap. Also because our economic systems are nonsensical and require infinite growth in a finite world.

How about you give me money to quit my job and stay at home?

[–] rice@lemmy.org 19 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It's pretty hilarious too, because tons of people would have more babies if they'd pay for them.

[–] circuitfarmer@lemmy.sdf.org 71 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Ensuring there are more people has the potential to keep wages low across all industries by virtue of a larger pool of potential labor.

That's it. That's the whole thing.

They need babies, because more babies now becomes cheaper labor later -- especially when the government is no longer on the hook for any assistance post-birth (or pre-birth, for that matter). It means profits for the rich across entire lives.

This sounds like some Brave New World bullshit. Sorry, I recently read Brave New World.

So did they.

Alphas, betas, gammas, deltas, and poor poor epsilons.

[–] boredtortoise@lemm.ee 5 points 1 day ago

They can't read tho

[–] circuitfarmer@lemmy.sdf.org 1 points 1 day ago

Oh it most certainly is. Huxley and Orwell can be just as prophetic.

And also to keep women out of the workforce and at home, dependent on men.

These people are insane. They think "leftists want to kill them" bcz that's exactly what they want to do to anybody who doesn't agree with them.

Why is the concept of leave other people the fuck alone such a difficult concept for everyone?

[–] BossDj@lemm.ee 32 points 2 days ago

Conservatives are incapable of empathy, so it only makes sense to them that other people either think the way they do, are lying about it, or have a mental disorder

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 16 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I do want to kill them?

They can surrender all their wealth and power if they want to not be wanted killed.

[–] NocturnalMorning@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

Read the article. The headline is a little clickbaity, the article itself is the people I'm talking about.

[–] Olhonestjim@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

They're doing a great job talking us into it.

[–] WeirdGoesPro@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 2 days ago

Well…I can’t deny that they sure look like the kind of people who would be in the guillotine line.

The first rule of Eugenicist Club: DO NOT LEAVE PEOPLE ALONE

Second rule of Eugenicist Club: TELL EVERYONE WHAT TO DO

[–] I_Has_A_Hat@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago

Ah yes, the group that has shown themselves to be completely unable to think in the long term is really wanting more babies with a goal that will only pan out in 15+ years.

Eternal growth is all that keeps the current scam from failing. Fewer babies equals a static economy and one percenter grifters can't handle that.

[–] TransplantedSconie@lemm.ee 37 points 2 days ago

We want more babies!

Of course we won't give you healthcare, support, or a living wage. Just start popping them out! It's easy if you are rich! Why aren't you rich?!

[–] limer@lemmy.dbzer0.com 36 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Few things are as violent and shitty as forcing births on people.

[–] NatakuNox@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Even if it was too save humanity! You don't take away others free will. Anyone spouting this nonsense needs to be shouted down vehemently. They want women and poor people locked away in a farm/factory working to make their lives better.

These far-right white nationalists are so afraid of being a minority that they will breed additional idiots to reduce the amount of representation afforded to progressives and people of color.

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 23 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Holy shit, the sooner humans die off the better off every species will be, including humans!

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

never should have went past a billion.

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 2 points 2 days ago

Shoulda could woulda. All the past is good for is lessons. And unlearned, not even that.

Don't let Musk or Vance watch The Handmaid's Tale

I shouldn’t have tried to read this article after dinner. It’s long, I’m getting tired, and I think I might vomit. I got to the part where the journalist was denied entry.

Sorely needed, much appreciated. Laughter is good medicine.
