I think that is the point. They just went and conquered places with better food and made them part of their empire, so the food then became theirs too.
What did you do with it? Because you sure as fuck havent cooked any of it.
We have loads. Curry, kebab and Chinese are probably some of the more common ones.

One of the intresting things we are taught about unconscious bias, is besides people actively discriminating agianst outer groups, most people simply reserve postive emotions for inner groups leading people to be kinda like this without really realizing it.
So remember don't just reconsider your views on natinoalism, but consider everyone else probably has unconscious prejudice agianst others, so don't just attack them for thier views but at least try to educate them.
Then if they continue to be willfully ignorant shrug....
In related news: My local group totally doesn't have an accent. Everyone else does!

I'd go further and say most Americans outside the Southeast US think they don't have accents. This is the only time the Southeast has ever topped the charts on anything involving intelligence.

Having lived in like 7 different countries for long periods of time I'm convinced there is no objective measure of the quality of food, art, or music.
There are things that have measures if high quality in Japan that American would find absolutely foul, and the same in the other direction.

Nationalism is a archaic ideology that has outlived its usefulness in the modern era of globalised capitalist plundering and climate catastrophe.
I mean, I like the food in my country, but I would never want to do without the cuisine of foreign countries. Or the culture, or whatever else. Friends 💕
That's what's so great about American 'cuisine'. Everybody comes here and opens up restaurants. We got it all.

Sure, but you shouldn't think that the "ethnic" restaurants in the US are serving what is actually served in their home country. Just about every restaurant tunes their recipes for local tastes. And, since the US is more insular than most countries, the recipes are adjusted a lot more for Americans than for people in other countries.
Hard to fall for this thinking when you have no favorites.

Even for something like a cheese tray its based on expectations and variety; a plain, spicy, and aged.
I am surrounded by people who have preferences but I will happily go with whatever is cheapest without sacrificing quality.
