"Big man" trump knows how to beg with the best of them.
Imagine being elected president then just deciding, entirely on your own, that a law (that you helped pass) just shouldn't exist. So much for checks and balances.
The law that passed congress, as written, explicitly gives the sitting president the ability to delay the ban by executive order.
Wow, this whole thing was stupid. I guess it makes Trump look like the good guy, if you're an idiot, so thanks, Bytedance.
Isn't manipulating idiots their entire thing? 🤷
Now that Trump's USA scores almost as low as China on the democracy scale, I guess TikTok isn't an existential threat to the nation anymore.
I thought Trump wanted to ban tiktok to appease his masters Musk and Zuck?
He just does whatever the last person to talk with him was able to talk him into.
I suspect that, at the root, he just likes being popular with people and he has some kind of understanding that everyone who doesn't look any harder than "But I like going on TikTok, what the fuck" will get mad at him, and so he'll undo the ban. But it could honestly go any which way, just depending on the whims of whatever little hamster is running on the wheel in his head on any particular day.
He just does whatever the last person to talk with him was able to talk him into.
Heard the exact same think about Musk a few months back.
