IDK enough specifics but it "feels" like Stoli got a state sponsored attack from Russia so they could easily take those distillery assets and make it look like Stoli was poorly run to ruin their reputation as a Russian Export.

Or they just had a shitty IT dept that didn't protect their assets properly and a stupid employee fucked them
