The recruiter (most often third party head hunter) being competent has zero influence on the quality of the vacancy they're trying to fill

Gatekeeping makes you look dumb

No, I demand immediate self-righteous anger.

Competent and knowledgeable about the position you are trying to fill are two different things and one of them is crucial.

I know nothing about programming other than the names Python and C++ but using any pokemon names other than the original 151 is just mean.

[-] donuts@kbin.social 13 points 9 months ago

I'm a programmer and I've played a couple of the pokemon games, and I'm still iffy on a few of them.

[-] Crashumbc@lemmy.world 10 points 9 months ago

I'd be more worried about a recruiter that DID know which were Pokemon...

A. They spend all their time playing Pokemon.

B. They aren't interested in being a recruiter and are trying to get a programming job themselves.

Pyspark sounds like some kind of electric snake.

[-] germanatlas@lemmy.blahaj.zone 10 points 9 months ago

Honestly, a Pokémon called c++ would instantly become my favourite
