Showerthoughts

A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted clever little truths, hidden in daily life.

Here are some examples to inspire your own showerthoughts:

Rules

  1. All posts must be showerthoughts
  2. The entire showerthought must be in the title
  3. No politics
    • If your topic is in a grey area, please phrase it to emphasize the fascinating aspects, not the dramatic aspects. You can do this by avoiding overly politicized terms such as "capitalism" and "communism". If you must make comparisons, you can say something is different without saying something is better/worse.
    • A good place for politics is c/politicaldiscussion
  4. Posts must be original/unique
  5. Adhere to Lemmy's Code of Conduct and the TOS

If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.

Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report, the message goes away and you never worry about it.

This is a perfectly executed shower thought. No notes.

I don't have any inherent disagreement, but I feel like I'm gonna need you to show your work. Can't you have beef pepperoni? that feels very close to milk, and only a step away from cream.

I tried it, it's basically garlic flavored vanilla ice cream. I'm glad I tried it, would not seek it out again.

Both are animal fat products

[–] intensely_human@lemm.ee 46 points 10 months ago (2 children)

Dude your mom’s an animal fat product

[–] DelightfullyDivisive@lemmy.world 10 points 10 months ago (1 children)

...and I like eating all three...

[–] boredtortoise@lemm.ee 4 points 10 months ago

The culinary opposite of pepperoni is coconut milk.

[–] TootSweet@lemmy.world 10 points 10 months ago (1 children)

The culinary opposite of coconut milk is haggis.

[–] Nurse_Robot@lemmy.world 7 points 10 months ago

The culinary opposite of haggis is leafy greens

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

Coconut milk ice cream

Claims made without evidence can be dismissed without evidence

[–] lord_ryvan@ttrpg.network 15 points 10 months ago (1 children)

No it's not

They're both Italian, ice cream can be non-sweet, there must be bigger opposites!

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

Wouldn’t it be gelato vs pepperoni?

[–] KingJalopy@lemm.ee 14 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Not a question, but I challenge you to explain yourself.

[–] owenfromcanada@lemmy.world 11 points 10 months ago (1 children)
[–] KingJalopy@lemm.ee 7 points 10 months ago (1 children)

You've either had too much pepperoni, or too little ice cream...

Either way, you owe us all an explanation. Or ice cream. I'll accept ice cream.

[–] netvor@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

but no pepersplaining please

[–] Anyolduser@lemmynsfw.com 14 points 10 months ago

Who are you, who are so wise in the ways of science?

Tangent: one if my roommates discovered a recipe for an avocado-based chocolate mouse. She hates it when I call it chocolate guacamole, guacolate, or chocomole.

[–] kamiheku@sopuli.xyz 1 points 10 months ago

I'd say they're in a somewhat similar realm of consistency so no

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@lemmy.world 7 points 10 months ago

They’re both high in fat so no, it’s not.

Together? Pepperoni flavored ice cream? Ice cream flavored pepperoni? Where do you draw the line? 🤔

[–] BaroqueInMind@lemmy.one 4 points 10 months ago

... t-together?

[–] southsamurai@sh.itjust.works 7 points 10 months ago

You know, I ain't mad at that.

Don't agree, but I can dig the vibe.

Now, I would have said salad, personally, as the opposite of ice cream, or maybe barbecue.

[–] Randomgal@lemmy.ca 6 points 10 months ago

Why would you say something so brave, yet so controversial?

[–] Boozilla@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago

Key lime pie makes a great dessert after spicy Mexican food.

[–] Siegfried@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

And here i am, thinking that the opposite of icecream was Surströmming

Bonus: at one point in time, there was ice cream served with pepperoni Apparently

[–] JustZ@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

You caught some heat in the comments but this is completely true.

[–] Ibaudia@lemmy.world 0 points 10 months ago (1 children)
[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

No, you can have almonds for dessert.

[–] Ibaudia@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

If you're Italian and therefore demonic then maybe (/s)
