https://truthout.org/articles/real-estate-software-aided-price-fixing-cartel-among-us-property-companies/

Yeah, apparently, when they are using this real page software, they are able to figure out how much they can charge for an apartment and how many apartments they can leave vacant before dropping their prices, and as long as the software says they'll make more money doing something one way, then that's what they're going to do.

Are you participating in the same thread that I am?

I literally said that landlords are using software to set the prices with software in collaboration with other landlords.

I also said there are lawsuits open about this action.

I was then told not to be a devil's advocate, and my response was, I am not advocating for anything.

Now you say that I am making excuses?

What logic train are you guys all on?

Because I am not on the same logic train as you.

Ihave not supported anything, or advocated for anything, or excused anything and yet you seem to have convinced yourself that I have, and I don't know where it's coming from.

Like if I'm fucking up fine, you know, downvote me. If I'm saying something that's controversial, fine, downvote me. But nothing I have said should be considered a fuck-up or controversial. So I don't know why people are against me saying it.

I'm literally not advocating for anything. I'm sharing knowledge and allowing others to come to their own conclusions.

I'm not in support of this practice, I'm just sharing the info.

Don't shoot the messenger my dude

Sorry, that's actually already factored into the cost of the rent.

The real reason why so many properties are vacant is that even though landlords know they could fill the vacant apartments by lowering the rent, there are companies that make money by telling landlords how much to set the rent for, even if they keep the apartments vacant. showing that they will make more money with less overhead by doing so, so that the decrease in hassle will justify the decrease in profit.

There are a couple of various lawsuits and actions that are going on about these companies right now, and we have yet to see how it's going to play out. But, the cat is out of the bag, the genie is out of the bottle, the likelihood of rents returning back to something that people can afford with minimum wage income any time soon is pretty low.

I feel like even if Willie Nelson and Snoop Dogg worked together on it, they would have a tough time going through 50 pounds of weed in a couple months.

Like even if they're crazy and they each go through an ounce a day, that's a little less than a pound every two weeks, Which would mean that this is at least a two-year supply of weed for both Willie Nelson and Snoop Dogg at the same time.

I think gadgets and gizmos are in the same general category, but gadgets tend to be more mechanically operated and gizmos tend to be more electrically operated.

Like a wrist-mounted crossbow would be a gadget, whereas a wrist-mounted laser would be a gizmo.

I think if you watch Severance, he does a really good job of changing your perspective, because I had the same feeling going into Severance, and now I feel different.

Same for Brent Spiner as Data.

I would merge narcissists with predators like, we don't have a lot of strong evidence that Elon Musk is a predator of any particular type, but there's something going on there.

His actions are not the actions that you take when you have a clean conscience.

I'm pretty sure that if the tips work out to be less than the minimum wage that the proprietor of the establishment has to back pay them, the problem is enforcing that, because many servers do not report their wages or do not report a portion of their wages in order to avoid having to pay taxes on those wages, And as a former tipped employee myself, I have been indirectly told that if my tips do not bring my wages above minimum wage, that I would no longer have a job, because that would be indicative of my poor performance, rather than some sort of issue with the company itself.

So whenever possible, friends, tip in cash so that Uncle Sam doesn't get to dip his dirty little fingers inside of the employee's pockets that's making $2.13 an hour.

I can see that my reply was not taken very well, but I still stand behind it, even if it's offensive to people, because I was raised by a parent that bought me toys in order to keep me occupied to prevent themselves from having to put any effort in to raising me

I carry a bit of a grudge about that, and that's why my response was offensively toned, Because I know that if it happened to me, then it's going to happen to other people.

If you were a better parent than my parents were, then my rant doesn't apply to you, and good for you, and I'm happy that your children have such a good parent to raise them.

Their jokes about assigning gender to babies and to being transgender, dressing in drag, like all of it was a send-up.

Sure, they did punch down if you were a person who were in those groups, but the fact that it was large enough social event to be relevant enough to be a comedy skit on a television show or a movie seen by millions implies that there were some serious things going on back then that they could see and wanted to address.

What the hell was going on that put all of those things in their mind?

I'm sure we've got the technology somewhere. We just need like a giant fucking tree to suck the carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere and to desalinate the oceans. Something that's the size of an island all by itself.

I don't care if it's 100 billion trees woven together with some science fuckery, but we need an Yggsrasil if we want to fix the planet.

Think about it. A giant tree out in the middle of the ocean that sucks up all of our carbon dioxide and turns it into more trees and that sucks the salts and minerals and plastics out of the ocean and incorporates those into itself until it grows as tall as 100 billion trees woven together with dark science can possibly grow.

Sure, it'll cost I don't know several billion dollars to make this happen a trillion I don't fucking know, but if we had that the world would get better.

Like I get the push more air through your mouth and get louder but my voice never breaks. I just get louder and louder and louder until I can't get louder anymore.

One time a friend of mine was a half a block away in the wrong direction and I screamed their name and they jumped because they said it sounded like I was right behind them talking in my normal voice just very loudly.

But then I listen to singers and they get that raw raspy edge to their voice and my voice doesn't do that.

How do you do that?

Here's the rules:

1: Post something you have never done that you think many people do. 2: Read the other posts, if you have done that thing, upvote it. If you have not done that thing, downvote it. 3: If you believe the person is lying, call them out on it in a reply. 4: If you are called out, give the full story. 4a: If you see a thread containing the full story, boost the person you think is right and truthful.

Person who has the most upvotes when the thread dies wins.

CAUTION SLOW

Don't get me wrong, there are problems with it, both in the process that modern AI uses as well as the sources that it draws from, however, as of right now ai is just a tool like auto-tune or photoshop.

Even though it will change the media formats that it is attached to, it will not supplant them within the next 5 to 10 years, it will simply transform them.

Fuckin magnets man

We'll just all assume that every person who gets this would make themselves early twenties with flawless skin, perfect organs, appendages and functionality, and no excess weight.

My question is, would you change yourself from your genetic baseline, and if so, how?
