For owls that are superb.

If you find an injured owl:

Note your exact location so the owl can be released back where it came from. Contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitation specialist to get correct advice and immediate assistance.

Minimize stress for the owl. If you can catch it, toss a towel or sweater over it and get it in a cardboard box or pet carrier. It should have room to be comfortable but not so much it can panic and injure itself. If you can’t catch it, keep people and animals away until help can come.

Do not give food or water! If you feed them the wrong thing or give them water improperly, you can accidentally kill them. It can also cause problems if they require anesthesia once help arrives, complicating procedures and costing valuable time.

If it is a baby owl, and it looks safe and uninjured, leave it be. Time on the ground is part of their growing up. They can fly to some extent and climb trees. If animals or people are nearby, put it up on a branch so it’s safe. If it’s injured, follow the above advice.

Number 7 looks leagues better as an illustration to the point I'm not sure it is real.

Right? It's like gazing into the abyss

I don't think I've ever felt like that. The rest of them? Sure. Often. But not this one.

It's real, and really impressive for 1460. The only one that qualifies as a superb owl, I think.

I think it's 2. The face of "need coffee and why am I awake right now".

[–] figjam@midwest.social 6 points 1 year ago

I'm very 9 today.

5, just shaking off a hundred stupid sticky briars one by one.

  1. Too much to do, too little time and resources. And the more I do the more I find I need to also do.

~~4 with a pinch of 6~~

6 when I go outside and witness the insane amounts of climate denialism and 4 when I go inside and try not to think about it, like rn.

Feeling like a 1 lately. Everything is happening all at once, so instead of becoming a 2, I've become very scatterbrained

  1. I just woke up and am done with the day.
