A blatant lie if there ever was one. America was founded by literal slave owners who were eager to exterminate the indigenous population and steal their land.
Yep and there were even white people who pointed out how absurd it was for the founders to act like they thought all people were equal when they also tortured human beings with chattel slavery. Wasn't a "times were different" thing, America has just always been evil.
The one “good” founding father, Paine, was an idealist who’s words were co-opted to further their bourgeois revolt. He died penniless and reviled because he actually believed the equality shit
