No one is going to use "superintelligence".
There's too much culture surrounding "AI".
This is like Twitter renaming themselves "x".
What a stupid grift lol
Also genuinely only idiots think it surpasses human intelligence in any way whatsoever.
I understand the anti Ai sentiment, but "any way" is quite broad. Yes calling it super intelligence right now is a grift, but saying current frontier models are not better than humans in any respect is just as ridiculous. They are better at reviewing code for example, can make sense of large sections of unintelligible spaghetti like no human can.
There's some cleverness behind it. The government is legally mandated to only refer to AI as SI, so that will theoretically boost the value of the squatted domains among the people obsessed with the stuff.
Even a gold rush can enrich a shovel salesman.
The same cleverness involved in not paying for pianos that have been supplied to you, sure
Only a rube actually pays for pianos. Not paying is called being smart.
Not really a good example, seeing as they were pretty successful, even if it a terrible name.
Were they? They took one of the most recognizable brands of the century and made something people tend to avoid referring to because it's hard to.
Im not aware of any examples of people refusing to refer to it...?
I mean, they themselves kept "formerly twitter" in their emails for years (it might even still be there?)
They bungled it so bad that people still use "twitter" now, lmao.
I wish that were true.
Me. I still call it twitter.
