I have a feeling that Flock will eventually go out of business, everyone will cheer and go home, then a new company will take its place behind closed doors and without the media attention

I don't think its manufactured. The Flock cameras are distinctive looking and highly visible, so it's very "in your face." You can see them along roads or at the entrance to parking lots and many other places. People don't like that so I'd call it a natural reaction.

I do think it will be replaced by something more subtle, but not due to some manufactured outrage.
