I genuinely do not understand why so many of my fellow straight men have decided that a woman being a badass isn't hot. Like imagine if Buffy or Xena or even fucking Red Sonja came out for the first time in the modern media climate. Any way you slice it the gta woman was still made with the male gaze in mind, she's got a belly shirt showing off an hourglass figure and booty shorts!
These same guys also suddenly decided that women with exotic hair colors are the enemy, when not too long ago they were thirsting over women who were into alternative fashion.
I suspect that they are mad at the women with exotic hair colours exactly because they are also thirsting over them.
Something something politics, something something sexual pathology.
I'd argue the shift happened when exotic hair colours became a thing in the real world more than in video game characters that have the hots for the self-insert
It's funny because I work with my therapist to overcome my victim mentality and yet on the right men have fully embraced it. The world is literally bending to their whims but it's more comforting to wrap yourself up in victimhood and stew in being a toxic shithead.
They don't like the idea of women capable of fighting back.
Even when they're being pandered to with a bombshell woman, the right-wing man is still unhappy. Tragic.
Perhaps propagands, alienation and the destruction of third spaces have resulted in a bunch of poorly socialized dudes whose natural inclination is to feel threatened rather than intrigued by a cool woman.
I've also been thinking that the fash inclination to infantalize women might play some role. Some people are happy to see uwu smol bean cute girls but unhappy when they see big sexy competent women.
