I left Gaiden out just to keep things more simple. It is the start of that style but its like calling Simon's Quest as the first metroidvania game in the castlevania series. Genealogy is closer to the Gaiden and newer style than most would admit sd well, its just so janky people see it them as one time mechanics and not evolved from Gaiden. The risk free star of match arenas are just a worse versiom of overworld grind. Thracia is my favorite FE btw. Not cause its hard, but because the gameplay and story are so perfectly in sync that I genuinely get emotionally into it where most fe is stats to me now
