It was my 2nd Fire Emblem game, i really like the pair up system way better than the Adjutant in three houses that i would sometimes forgot to use, i like the story, i already kinda knew bits of it via cultural osmosis but i still like it very much and also the parts i didnt know about like the Ferox Khan surviving and the fake gem.

Child units were pretty fun, they all have good growths so they became really strong units but i didnt got all the kids only, Lucina, Cynthia, Morgan, Nah, Severa and Noire so only half. Severa was my favorite since she was pretty funny

i like reclassing to pick up good skill for my units in the end the units with max skill slots were robin, the kids and tiki, i kinda tried to get the another kid unit but the units i didnt use were pretty weak so it was hard to get them lvl so i just forgot about them

This was the Peoples Liberation Army of Ylisse (plus Sumia), in the final campaign plus my beautiful dragon daughter that can solo maps

i did a bad play in turn 2 and 4 which killed my healer and then the pagasus paladin pair up, but in the end the Manateke squad was able to beat the grimleal and then Morgan got a double Luna proc vs Grima and i got the final hit with Robin to permanently kill Grima since my wife and daughter were dragon and they would have 100% have to deal with him in 1000 years, i like the ending i think it makes more sense than the chrom last hit ending.

10/10 game i really liked it, i will play FE Fates next since it has similar gameplay

It was literally the game that saved the franchise. If it didn’t sell well, the franchise was to be shelved.

FE12 did a great job of taking a ton of the best mechanics from previous games, modernizing them, and fitting them into one package.

Traversable overworld map with mobs - FE2 and 8

Skills - FE4/5/9/10, not including 8 since you had one, maybe, and it was tied to that specific class if you had it

Second Generation Characters via Supports - FE4

Flexible Class System - FE2/8

Human-beast hybrids - FE9/10

My Unit - Technically FE7 if you count Mark

Couple all of that with the story being a thousand years after FE1/3, having cameos by old characters, it being the first voice acted game (not including cutscenes from 9/10), and it having a “My Unit” and it’s no surprise that the game absolutely took off. Every modern Fire Emblem fan that hasn’t played it, should. Why? Cause it truly set the groundwork for what the series is today.

Fire Emblem is an ex that I begrudgingly am glad is doing well. I like old restrictive fire emblem dammit

Me too. To me, Fire Emblem went severely downhill starting with Fates and cementing its fate with Three Houses. I would’ve been perfectly happy if Awakening was kept as a one off, but it sold so well that it’s no surprise they chased that golden goose. I miss the old days, but am happy that it has evolved into something a modern audience can enjoy.

Have you played the Tear Ring/Berwick Saga? The creator got fired from Nintendo after thracia and made his fire emblem so hard on Playstation they sued him.

Kaga right? he made some FE like games in steam too

Yeah. Haven't played the steam ones. Berwick saga is the only one I played through and it is next fucking level in both the good and bad. It's a weird complicated in every sense game
