I used to listen to a podcast called The Deprogram as a comfort podcast but as time went on its hosts seemed to run out of things to say on communism so they started to give their limited views on life as episodes without any serious education about Marxism's connection to things like marriage, disability, health, and love. In this their privilege as cis het able bodied men came forward but I kept holding on for nostalgia but I have I finally let go of it.

I had to stop listening to the Deprogram and Chapo for the same reasons. Chapo is especially ableist.

Though I used to use those as 'comfort' podcasts too, if I'm listening to a podcast I usually want to hear some political analysis. So, in that case, as far as politics and theory heavy podcasts go, here is the list of podcasts that my community education group put together for people to check out.

PODCASTS

  • THE ELECTRONIC INTIFADA PODCAST
    • The Electronic Intifada is an independent online news publication and educational resource focusing on Palestine, its people, politics, culture and place in the world.
    • The Electronic Intifada has a highly recommended and informative podcast hosted on YouTube that creates regular videos/podcasts that cover aspects and stories of Palestine and Palestinians from perspectives not covered anywhere else. Topics include art and poetry, international politics, activism, history, weekly battlefield reports with information and footage gained directly from National Liberation Fighters actively resisting against the zionist entity, and more.
  • THE RED NATION PODCAST
    • The Red Nation Podcast features discussions on Indigenous history, politics, and culture from a left perspective. Hosted by Nick Estes and Jen Marley with help from our friend and comrade Sina. The Red Nation Podcast is also the home of Red Power Hour, hosted by Melanie Yazzie and Elena Ortiz.

    • Free YouTube Source
  • REV LEFT RADIO
    • An online audio format project/podcast that covers a wide swathe of topics from contemporary news, dialectical philosophy, proletarian history, and revolutionary politics.
    • Rev Left Radio is one of the most principled yet completely down to earth and understandable Marxist-Leninist podcast out there. In addition to covering news, theory, and politics, they also delve into other topics such as Buddhism, spirituality, culture, etc. and their intersection with Marxism. This is also a personal favorite.
    • YouTube Source
  • ADNAN HUSAIN
    • Professor Adnan Husain, historian and scholar of religion, hosts a show spanning history, politics, global affairs, intellectual culture, as well as religion and spirituality. The format ranges from scholarly guest interviews, panel discussions, recorded lectures, and his own readings and commentary.
  • THE MALCOLM EFFECT
    • A show covering the topics of Black Liberation and Anti-Imperialism.
  • PROLES POD
    • Your bi-weekly dose of history, politics, and culture... without the liberalism
    • YouTube Source
  • THE EAST IS A PODCAST
    • A podcast about anti-imperialism through a Marxist lens.
