satan, like everyone else cool in the bible, is generally just guilty of questioning god's bullshit, and god be on some bullshit let me tell you hwut
If I remember my catechismus this is more a case of being sent by god. Like he's a tester of sort. Similar character to the "Satan" that god makes a wager with about Job. These two aren't necessarily the same either, they're just two creatures that have less faith in Gods creations than he does.
